My favourite café for breakfast /brunch. Picture a warm sunny day, sitting out on the deck with unobstructed views of the wharf… can’t ask for anything better! A variety of fresh, healthy and great tasting and aesthetically appealing breakfast dishes to choose from. My only criticism is that sometimes the wait for the food takes a while. I’ve been here several times and have left a happy customer. I save up my visits for special occasions only as I would like the magic of Café Morso to stay on for as long as possible, leaving me wanting to come back for more!

I went there on a couple of occasions for lunch with work. I love this restaurant on sunny days. The setting on a wharf is amazing. It’s a really nice retreat from the busy city. I had a grilled fish and risotto and really loved it.

Came here for breakfast on a Tuesday and it ended up being our favorite meal in Sydney. The special, potato rosti with smoked salmon and poached eggs, was delicious. And we received great customer service from our server, Erin. (If you’re trying to get here it’s on the northwest side of the pier.)

Great location, great prices, food to die for! I love eating here on a Saturday morning, relaxing and take in the fresh Harbour views… Try the Morso breakfast!

Exotic mushrooms, truffled scramble eggs and a good sourdough. Great way to start the day especially sitting outside looking at the water views. Coffee(long black) about 8⁄10 as it was too hot.

Great setting, great food, poor coffee. The setting, on a wharf at Pyrmont is fantastic — water views whilst you chill out and relax are awesome. I love the old warehouse style of the building, and the few times I have been there I always completely forget there is inside seating… I mean, who wouldn’t want to sit outside? The food is very good, Morso has both an interesting range of dishes(I had the orange pancakes with berry compote and yoghurt) that are well prepared. The coffee — hmmmm, sadly not that good… although I swear they used to be a better bet when I visited a couple of years ago. I am not sure what has changed since then. My coffee of choice is a double macchiato, which many people may not be familiar with but I would expect all cafes to be(it’s a double shot of espresso, stained with milk). The first attempt was so bad that I actually queried with the waiter, who offered to take it back — not so much an espresso drink as a long black with froth on top. The second attempt was«better»… but still not good Coffee: Double macchiato Bean: Karmee, I think? Crema: Eh 5⁄10 Overall Taste: A bit bitter 6⁄10 Served in: Small glass(+1) Preparation: Too much milk, not well poured. Anyway, I would definitely go back for the food… but with the intent of following up immediately with a visit to a coffee store close by!

This place used to be our office go-to coffee joint but when the old barista left, it all went a bit downhill on that front. It’s still an excellent spot on the wharf for lunch on a sunny day, with views across to Balmain and a great wine list. The people-watching doesn’t suck, either: well-to-do retirees maintaining their ridiculously luxe yachts, lycra-clad mums jogging with strollers, dog-walkers, suits, and grizzled old wharfies are all commonplace on the Jones Bay waterfront. N.B. Be warned, it’s a popular spot for corporate lunches from surrounding businesses, especially at this time of year, so doesn’t hurt to book if you plan to go during the midday rush. Unlike the coffee, the food is consistently good; I second the other reviewer who recommends choosing off the specials board, though you can never go wrong with whatever fish is featured as a main on the menu. Most recently I tried the kingfish with fried whitebait and cauliflower purée; the purée was a little on the rich side for my taste, but the accompanying peas and cavolo nero offset the creaminess somewhat and the fish was perfectly cooked(one thing you can rely on, here) with nicely crisped skin.

I was set a challenge by a friend to find an awesome café near Pyrmont. It turns out that at least for coffee, this wasn’t it. The dbl mac I received(pic ) was. meh. Sure there was too much milk, and too much froth but the real issue was that when my coffee arrived it was burnt. I am guessing that as the«Best Café Restaurant for 2011» they must please someone with the food they offer. Perhaps next time I will go there for the food. Café Morso on the lower deck of Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont is a fantastic place to enjoy some breakfast or lunch or if you get the chance a long lunch! With views looking over to the Balmain vicinity, you may have to get past the line of boats that are plonked right on the wharf in front of you. Boats might be a bit of an understatement. I’m talking large boats or yachts that I know for sure, I’ll never be able afford but it’s nice to dream. The food menu is quite nice but keep a look out for the daily specials board and try grab something from there. If you are spending an afternoon there then the cocktail list might be of interest to you. It’s such a nice spot and so peaceful, Café Morso is a great place to dream away an afternoon.

Great location, great views and great vibes. You often find places that budget out on the food and sell themselves on their location, not café Morso. You can overlook the harbor while enjoying a meal of the highest quality. The prices are surprisingly cheap for the café’s location and there is plenty to choose from. They have an odd policy of breakfast wrapping up at 11:45 am, however, the lunch menu serves a late breakfast. It’s great for the weekend when you only roll out of bed around midday but are still craving those breakfast delghts. In the afternoon try one of their cocktails, they are delicious. My favorite is their margarita with a rim of salt, it’s so nice sipping on one of those and looking out at the best view Sydney has to offer. People are rather fond of their catering, which they offer anywhere within a 1 km radius. They have tailored packages to comply with your tastes and provide a meal of 3 – 4 courses. Café Morso has won best Café restaurant this year and in 2008 so I think that award pretty much speaks for itself, definitely a place worth checking out for yourself.
