Good affordable Vietnamese restaurant in the Eastern suburbs! It is a treat to come here for lunch during work. I have tried almost everything on the menu — rice paper rolls, spring rolls, phở, vermicelli, rice dishes — and they are all good. My go to is the bbq pork chop with rice(only $ 11.80!). It’s tasty, but at the same time no better than what you would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant. The best are still in Cabramatta yet I am grateful to have this nearby.

Dalat is a good restaurant. The food is very tasty with fresh clean flavours. It is better value than the restaurants at the nearby Spot precinct.

This is the only Vietnamese place I know of in Randwick, a friend who used to live here recommended it. Came here on rainy Monday around 3:30PM, but the hours listed said it closed. Luckily we gave them a buzz and they were open. We ordered some spring rolls, Rare Steak Phở, the Dac Biet Special(beef balls, tendons, etc), a Chicken Noodle Soup/Phở and the Crispy Chicken with Egg Noodle. The spring rolls came out and they were piping hot! My cousin and I shared the Phở and the Crispy Chicken Dish. The was okay, not the most tasty but decent. The crispy chicken was pretty tasty, as was the noodle soup. My cousin who was feeling sick enjoyed the basicness off the Chicken Noodle Soup. Overall a good place for a quick Vietnamese fix in Randwick. Friendly staff and prices are reasonable. Overall we spent $ 50 which is not too bad.

I just had the most delicious salad at Dalat and I had to rush home and write about it. I almost ordered the Masman curry(a safe favourite) but the menu at Dalat has so many dishes which I was unfamiliar with that I decided to experiment. I figured I should have something healthy to break my recent dining cycle so after almost ordering the Vietnamese Green Papaya Salad, I settled on the Vietnamese Lotus root salad. It can be ordered with Prawn or Chicken, I had the chicken and it comes with carrots and of course lotus roots and a lime and fish sauce dressing. I am often cautious regarding fish sauce in meals, but it worked really well. I also had the Pork meat balls served with crushed peanuts, very tasty. Oh and they have FRIEDICECREAM!!! The only thing I didn’t like was the choice of music, it sounded like a collection of American Idol performances: annoying, but hey that’s just me.
