So.9 is a new Vietnamese place that opened on Danks Street in Waterloo. Their theme is a shared menu, and they have different stations for all types of Vietnamese food like phở, spring rolls, pancakes, salads, and the like. The décor is pretty nice and it totally looks the part, it’s just too bad the food fails to deliver. Came with 3 others and we got Vietnamese milk coffee, phở, Vietnamese pancakes, and salads. The coffee was alright, it was just OK at best. The phở was pretty disappointing to say the least, the broth tasted like they used a phở stock cube instead of real bones but I can’t verify. The pancakes(banh xeo) had bean sprouts that should have been slightly cooked but were just raw A lot of the food looked the part, it just didn’t taste the part. Also for the price you pay at $ 14+ for phở or $ 15+ for banh xeo… just go to Marrickville or Cabramatta instead.
