Location is a bit out of the way. Food and service good. Comfy, informal and interesting décor(used to be firehouse?) that is perfect for a relaxed and quiet few hours to re-charge your batteries.

Good bar food(dirty bird tender and moist, fresh thai chicken salad) and relaxed environment to have a chat with a mate. Welcoming wood fireplace and friendly staff. Easy place to hang out after partying hard the night before.

I am so lucky to have the Cherry Tree as my local bar/restaurant. It’s a wonderful meeting place, they have a REAL wood burning fire, wonderful for the winter. The food is always delicious, the staff, extremely friendly ANDOMG… THEYHAVEWIFI!!! The world’s most liveable city hasn’t caught on that the rest of the world, especially travelers are used to and need that wifi. So the Cherry Tree is as good a meeting spot as any Starbucks in Seattle(that reference was for anyone outside of Seattle — Café Vita is my first choice)

The Cherry Tree is exactly what you’d want a local to be. Inviting, comfortable, decent outdoor area, good food and an excellent selection of beers. Hidden in the back streets of Cremorne, it is very much a locals pub. The place is warm in winter with the open fire and refreshing during the summer with large roller windows that open up and cool the place down. Popular with the after work crowd the place then transforms to a locals pub on the weekend, some times quiet, sometimes rowdy depending on the footy crows and other Richmond events. The only down side for me is the have started to ban kids from coming in. Although I don’t have any, my friends do and this is now making it more difficult to hold a day time get together, when they can’t run around anymore. Not sure why they’ve done that, but oh well — I still think it’s pretty awesome as do the locals.

We had a farewell drinks after work do for a dear friend, and the service was pretty good at the bar. Lots of room to move about, and the front yard is where you’d want to be on a beautiful warm evening. I reckon this little gem really caters to the workers of the ad agencies that surround this place. You kinda can tell just by looking at them. That’s a good thing as it makes it a local but at the same time welcomes anyone. Overall a nice atmosphere and prompt service. Will try the food the next time.

Tucked away in a leafy, quiet corner of Cremorne, the Cherry Tree is a great spot for the kind of Friday lunch that goes a bit longer than planned. The menu features well-executed versions of standard pub food — pizzas, steak sandwiches, burgers etc — that are a cut above the usual without tipping over into pointless wankery about artisanal this and that. There’s a wide-ranging beer selection, outdoor seating for sunny days, and they open at noon. What more could you want from a neighbourhood pub?

Awesome place for a relaxed meal and a drink with friends. Vegetarian pizza with bocconcini and basil is great. All of the meals I’ve had there have been enjoyable and it always feels very comfortable and cosy.

Located in the quiet backstreets of Cremorne,(which is Richmond’s fancy little inner suburb), The Cherry Tree is the local of choice for those in the area. Without the passing crowds of nearby Church or Swan Streets, this is a great little place to enjoy dinner and a few drinks in an atmosphere that is clean and quiet enough to be able to speak to the person opposite you. With a great wine list that features wines from as little as $ 5.50 a glass, which is pretty much unheard of these days, grab a glass and snare a seat by the open fire. Everything about the Cherry Tree seems honest and welcoming. From the menu, which isn’t hard on the wallet or too big for it’s boots,($ 15-$ 19 for a burger and chips), to the fact that they show football games,(without the rowdy crowd you’ll find down the road). The Cherry Tree invites you to find it and stop in for a drink with the locals. A local pub you’ll be glad to call your own local…
