The title of this place and the food it sells couldn’t be more juxtaposed. Café du Soleil sounds so incredibly posh. Instantly I’m thinking fancy coffees and delicate pastries — not a place that serves beef and gravy rolls. For that is the reality of Café du Soleil: fancy-pants name, down-to-earth hearty meals to rival the bluest collared lunch bar. And I kind of love that. Nothing beats a place that sells cheese burgers with the lot, and fish burgers that have an entire, long piece of battered fish bunged ill-fittingly into a round roll. Then of course there’s the milkshakes, the wedges smothered in sour cream, the hot dogs and toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. Humble, wholesome and all together unhealthy food perfect for a day out shopping in Stockland.
