While I have been searching high and low for great cafes all over Sydney, I have found some awesome locations, and some not so wonderful ones. This little café as great intentions, but having tasted their coffee I do not feel it is on making velvety crema. On the plus side, their aircon is fantastic, especially on the humid Sydney day that I ran across them. They also appear to have a pretty good range of cakes and pastries(not a massive surprise when you look at their name), which I did not indulge in while there. Finally, the other notable thing here was the friendly service. While often such service can go a very long way to making an experience enjoyable, it was just not meant to be in this instance. With the aircon on and all of the windows and doors shut, the cement floor did a *cough* brilliant job at reverberating as much noise as possible around the room. Even though the café only had two other tables occupied, the noise was surprisingly loud. All this did not add to my enjoyment of the coffee… Though the coffee was pretty much a lost cause when it arrived at my table. With more froth than the average cap, and enough milk for a piccolo latte, the most I could do was sip the coffee to taste the crema. I have drunk many cup of Piazza d’oro before, and this was not the best example of it. So while I did not get what I was looking for when visiting here, it is very possible that you will have a better experience than I. Maybe give them a try if you are in the area.
