Some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Was served with strawberries, maple syrup and mascarpone — it was brilliant. I also had the caramel milkshake and it was easily the best caramel milkshake I have ever had. I will definitely be back again! :)

The local shack is a great venue, great place to have a bite and a drink down on the beach and have some sliders. The food is good but not anything too special. Service can sometimes take quite a while. It’s cool how they have games there and that they do the blended half watermelons!

This is the kinda of place you want to go to after a swim. Where able to get a table without issues or having to reserve. Was greated by friendly stuff upon entry. Has a great easy going laid back enviroment loved the décor. They have a huge selection of food to choose from at great prices(for perth). My husband and my burger was awesome loved every bite. Loved the fact that they have different games on each table. Stayed there longer then planned lol… Great place great food.

Finally we got ourself to the Local Shack — and we were not dissapointed! Great menu — and good food! Variatins from good veggie dishes to pizza & burgers. I had the nachos with a cold one! Great on a warm sunny day! Kids loved the pancakes — big serving of 4 with the choice of sweet(icecream & mascarpone) or salty(bacon). Good selection of drinks! Decent long black to end ot all off! Will be back!

Pretty nice place for brekkie. Light and airy in the front; dark and a bit warmer in the back, which is perfect for the colder winter months. Service was very friendly and quick, both in taking orders, delivering, and cleanup. The mushroom on sourdough was delicious. The avo on toast was eh-ok. We had sides of chorizo and bacon, respectively, which were both excellent. Both brekkies were quite small(on 2 thin slices of sourdough) so adding these sides felt a bit like necessity, not luxury. Still, this is a pretty neat place. Fun to play a couple of games, listen to the relaxed tunes, and enjoy the décor(or the surfing on TV).

I had no idea that this was the same place that’s in the city — and was so excited to discover it at the beach! I actually almost spent day, trying out brekky first and then coming back for drinks later. It was all great! I had the veggie wipeout for brekky consisting of soft poached eggs, avo, tomato and beans and herb covered fries. I also had a delicious and fresh cold pressed juice, in a good sized jar so you get bang for your buck. It was a healthy and fresh meal and much less expensive than Health Freak next door. We then come back for a late lunch and drinks before Sunset Wines — we had a variety of beers between us and the Ocean Spectacular of fish, squid, prawns and fries. All yummy and not greasy at all. We also had sweet potato wedges and nachos. It’s a burger bar so there’s not a lot of share plates to choose from but what we had was great. We also shared a Watermelon Bomb filled with Passionfruit infused vodka — amazing! The perfect summer cocktail that was big enough for 5 of us for only $ 35. You can also choose from a list of their infused vodkas including dark Choc and Orange and banana and caramel. Do it! There’s also games to choose from like Connect 4, Battleship and Jenga! The service was impeccable, so friendly and attentive and I love staff that enjoy a laugh with you. I will definitely be making this my local!

This place does amazing breakfast. Usually I get the Canadian pancakes with bacon, but this morning I opted for the morning session and it has everything you could want, crispy bacon, eggs, pancakes and this delicious Chipotle bbq sauce

This little bar is full of surprises. We walked in on a Saturday night and found a table for five with no issue. As soon as we sat down we were given water and menus, something you’d normally expect but I’ve found these days more places forget to do. Also they had snakes and ladders and jenga! Our waitress was amazing and polite, attentive almost to the point of annoying but never so. We all chose burgers and they were assembled and delivered in record time. I chose a variety of sliders, you could chose from a dozen of so different ones, which I thought was a daunting task as they all sounded delicious. Luckily the ones I chose were all juicy and flavoursome, although I assume that is because they all are. For a small bar they had a great variety of drinks to choose from, a selection of vodkas infused with different ingredients from lychee to green skittles and pineapple with chilli. With a small selection of beers and wines to boot this casual bar ticks all the boxes and I would definitely recommend to anyone.

This may have been one of the most pleasant surprises(bar wise) that I have had in a while. I used to live in Scarborough and firmly remember the offerings for food and drink being very dismal. This obviously planted itself in my memory and for a long time I never went to Scarbs for anything. Whilst beaching it around Trigg one Saturday afternoon, the very helpful Unilocal monocle showed me to The Local Shack… I have to admit that I was a little sceptical but boy did it pull through. I had a very delicious pear and lychee salad and the boy had the boy food(chicken wings and chips… my oh my the chips! The drinks are reasonably priced(Eventually) and we amused ourselves with one of the many board games available. About time Scarbs, the sceptic in me has eaten a massive slice of humble pie.

Went here for breakfast and had the worst breakfast dinning experience of my life. Not only did it take over 1.5 hours for our food to come out and multiple excuses from staff when it eventually came out it tasted like old soggy cardboard and was missing items. I was staaaaarving but couldn’t bring myself to finish the food. They did the right thing and didn’t charge us anything for the meal, but I’d rather pay for quality. Staff are nice and the décor is themed nicely. I want to go back sometime because I hear their burgers are really nice

This is a great little beach bar to visit if you happen to be in Scarborough! I was there for work for a few days and unfortunately only had one evening to explore, so ended up going to Sandbar and The Local Shack. It was a Thursday night and they had cocktail specials for girls($ 10 cocktails), and they were pretty delicious. We ordered burgers and pizzas that were all tasty and the chips were amazing, best I have had in a while, and came in a cute little bucket. They were a bit understaffed the night we went, so the service was a bit on the slow side, but it was friendly nonetheless. Would definitely recommend it if you’re around the area and want to grab a bite with friends in a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

I have been wanting to go to The Local Shack in Scarborough since it opened, I frequently go to the CBD one for lunch. I was impressed by the new venue in Scarborough the fit out is great — with large tables, all different sorts of seating options and a decent outside area. The have a large menu with not just burgers, there is a good selection of pizzas, salads and tapas — and their drinks list is extensive with a whole variety of interestingly named cocktails on offer. There are games such of Jenga available to play and you could spend some serious time in here just chilling and trialing a few of the drinks. We went here Thursday night, service was good with plenty of helpful staff. I ordered the Shack Steak Burger — the burgers here are a little bigger then the CBD one and I really enjoyed my first burger here. It was fresh and packed full of tasty ingredients. Price for meals was good I though, although one of the people at our table complained saying it was a little pricey for burgers. With basic burgers starting at $ 9.50 and pizza specials from $ 10.00 for a beach-side location I think the pricing is pretty reasonable. This is destined to become one of my go to restaurants when I can’t be bothered cooking on the weekend.

Seem to have picked up their act since they opened — service is attentive, they’ve disconnected the speakers out the back to keep the noise down. Food was good, in particular I recommend the«here squidy squidy squidy», fantastic! Who would’ve thought calamari, watermelon chili and lime would be so good? Don’t order dishes like tapas in the busy times though — arrive early and the quality is definitely better, before the kitchen gets overwhelmed.

Wow! Finally we have a great place to go to before or after the beach. It has a delicious menu for breaky, lunch & dinner and it’s licensed. The meals are generous and very well priced — breakfast from $ 12 – 19, awesome coffee and the staff are friendly, happy and helpful. That’s pretty rare in Perth! So it will definitely be our ‘local’. They open at 6.30am till late. So go grab a burger, pizza and a beer after soaking up the sunshine
