The fish itself was quite good, and heaps of chips which was very good value for the price. Nice to have outdoor seating, too. However, everything was about 3 times too salty, even for fish and chips. I’ll have to ask for no salt next time.

Food was good, but not spectacular. Butter fish and Dagwood dog was as to be expected. Chip serving was small and nothing special. Ordered a pineapple fritter which was half the size of a normal fritter. This shop had no eftpos facilities, so only deal in cash.

Having only come here when Soto’s was closed and I was desperate for fish & chips, I was surprised to discover that despite being in the shadow of their famous competition across the street, this place does a great job nonetheless. Their chips are similar to Sotos freshly-cut style and are delicious, the servings are generous and the butterfish was great. I’m not sure if I would recommend this place over Sotos, but if you’re in the area at one of the times Sotos is closed(annoyingly often for me!) then by all means give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.
