I love this place awesome hotdogs that are fully loaded as they should be for 20 bucks. Nice little Outdoor area with crisp fries and sauce. Super friendly. Dog friendly and free water and great milkshakes

Love love love Run Amuk. The homemade lemonade is a refreshing blend of lemonade and ginger, perfect to accompany any of their hot dogs, they don’t overpower each other and are just right shaken together. Next up, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Shake. Let’s just stop right there to re-read it. The Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Shake. To anyone who is a peanut butter aficionado, this one has your name all over it. Because this is liquefied chocolate and peanut butter in the best of ways, brought to you in the form of a thick shake. The dogs are why you come here. Like the proper hot dog establishment that it is, Run Amuk has a lot to choose from and they all sound amazing. The first one that caught my eye, was the High Jinks. But in talking to the man behind the counter, I was talked into the Rukus. This was one heck of a hot dog. It has a kick to it, nothing that leaves taste buds defeated, but well-rounded and simmered out into flavor. The crispy prosciutto and chili lime sambal, was perfect. The décor just adds to my adoration of this place. A clean graffiti-ed wall opposing a car filled one, open space, dining outside, bright colors and the friendliest people.

Run Amuk serves the best hot dogs in Perth. The restaurant is quirky. They put all sorts of weird things in their hot dogs like corn chips but it works and tastes delicious. This restaurant has matchbox cars stuck to the walls and old bus seats are used as restaurant chairs. This place makes me reminisce my high school years because I can play where’s Wally whilst eating my meal. The tables are covered in pages of Where’s Wally. Where’s Wally was the only book I ever read in high school. I really enjoy the Mischief hot dog and the fries with tomato relish dipping sauce. I have never been disappointed from my visits to this restaurant.

This busy little place is good value for money. There are plenty of different hotdogs to choose from to satisfy everyone, and they come out pretty fast. Good place to come with some friends for a fast lunch. The staff were helpful and friendly and helped us get a high chair for our table. I had the ‘high jinks’ hotdog and it was pretty tasty– the mango chutney took it up another notch. The only thing that could improve is if it had more seating areas or comfier chairs.

Really cool little spot along South Terrace which is springing to life as more places like this pop up. We came on a Saturday and just narrowly missed the lunchtime rush which came in a few minutes after we sat down. It’s a tiny little hole-in-the-wall spot with quirky décor — booths are made from bus seats and a there’s an art installment on the wall made entirely of toy cars. They had a special hot dog this week — the sushi dog(note: contrary to the name, does not contain sushi) which had Japanese mayo, seaweed flakes, pickled ginger, and wasabi. I opted for a more classic dog — the Scoundrel, topped with caramelised onions, sauerkraut and sweet mustard. Delicious! I also tried my friends’ more crazy hot dogs — the Jezebel with sweet chili mayo, pineapple, coriander and shredded coconut which was a bit too mayo-ey for my liking. The Rukus with sambal, crispy prosciutto, spinach, cheddar and sour cream was an interesting one too but it worked. They have great quality dogs made from 70% pork and 30% beef so it was lighter in colour and felt a little bit healthier. They even have vegan dogs! A bit pricey for a hot dog when you think about it at the end of the day($ 12 – 15) but they’re good quality meat and they do fill you up.

Awesome little place right by the beach — dine in or get take away and watch the sunset. Super creative hotdogs that might sound like a crazy mix but are actually so tasty! Their homemade lemonade and milkshakes are also incredible. I would eat here everyday if I could!

A little place I heard about a few years ago. Was great to finally make it there all the way in Perth! The hotdogs were mouth wateringly delicious & the ginger lemonade hit the spot! I shall return one day!

We visited the hotdog parlour tonight and were impressed by how quickly the food came out — the dogs are difficult to eat with a small mouth so don’t make this a first date food option! We had the popular punk with bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce and it was as good as it sounds. The Cajun aioli was yum with fries but not for $ 1.50… We think that’s a bit over the top. The house made lemonade was tasty too! Oh and also the toilet is really scary at night so they should put some lights around there or attach lights to the key or something… Creepy

Let’s run through my experience in order. Delicious ginger lemonade — I loved it, but the other half thought it was too sour. The chips — hot crunchy French fries. Nothing special, but not bad. The hot dog, arrived on part of someone’s fence(the serving dish is corrugated iron — pretty good for holding a hot dog) absolutely drowning in tomato sauce, BBQ sauce bacon, onions, cheddar, with mustard on top. Somewhere in there was the dog. I had ordered the punk. Messy eating, which can be fun when the food works. In this case the sweetness of the BBQ sauce overpowered the rest of the toppings. The dog, a bratwurst — reminded me of a bad Woolworths chicken sausage. It was herby, yet bland and did not compliment the rest of the hot dog. Due to the size of the sausage in the bun you often were left eating a mouthful of sauce, bacon and onions — with a hint of cheese. Then a mouthful of sausage and another hint of cheese. This just highlighted the quality of the sausage. It was absolutely filling, and I only made it half way though the hot dog(part full of chips, part less than enjoyable) In short it made me crave a visit to New York City again. Might come back for the lemonade, but I’ll skip the dog.

Having heard so much about this place, I decided to give this place a try. Exhaustion from 6 hours of volunteering and walking in 35 degrees of heat did not stop me from taking the hour long ride to get here from Perth Station. I caught the train from Perth to Fremantle station, followed by the Blue Cat to just before Orient St to get to Run Amuk. So, me being the spice lover, I ordered the Rukus(two chillies’ spicy) — a bratwurst(contains pork and beef) in a hotdog bun with lime and chilli sambal, cripsy proscuitto, spinach, cheddar, sour cream and jalapenos. Now, I’m no hotdog conoisseur or burger conoisseur, but I have had a very good hotdog. It was on an evening in October. Just before my friends and I made our way to the Opera in Vienna, we stopped at a hotdog stall. How can you go to Vienna and not try their bratwurst. We ordered their curry bratwurst — a simple bratwurst in a hot dog bun with mustard and curry powder on top. It was delicious. The bratwurst was succulent and bursting of flavor. The curry powder and mustard combo gave it just the right kick without overpowering the bratwurst flavor and the bread — oh well, the German know how to make their bread — it was soft, delicious, and satisfying. Definitely what we needed after a day’s worth of walking the streets of Vienna and checking out the massive Schonbrunn Palace. So back to Run Amuk — what I get is a below average hotdog. The so called ‘bratwurst’ could have very well been a Woolworths Select sausage. The bread roll could have very well been a Homebrand roll. And the lime and chilli sambal — well there was certainly no sambal, just some artificial lime flavouring. Even the jalapenos did not match the standards of jalapenos of Subway. The ‘crispy’ proscuitto was fried and tasted below par. I couldn’t eat it after one bite. The 5 spinach leaves did not cut it. The cheddar would have tasted better if it had been melted onto the sausage. It was just cold cheddar. No wonder our food arrived quickly. And the plates — they looked like slats used to build a fence. Ok — yes they are great at holding the hot dog together but they prevent you from eating the hotdog with a knife and fork. Trying to eat it with your hands means you drop the filling all over and make a big mess. My hotdog looked exactly like my dining companion’s hotdog and he had ordered the rascal or something. Something that wasn’t even close to mine. So, so disappointed. Here — Run Amuk tries to make gourmet hotdogs — but they’ve tried too hard. You can’t have a good hotdog if you don’t have quality hotdog rolls and sausages. NO I say — never again!

I regularly visit this restaurant & though I love their hotdogs as a whole(and their monthly themed hotdogs too) and their lemonade — the store has a few notable flaws. I hate the cheese. I get it removed regularly. It is a low quality cheese and doesn’t match the rest of the ingredients. The store is small & as a result the seating is low quality. They deserve better for the food they serve but currently it looks like a cheap fish’n’chip store. One type of sausage. It’s a good sausage but I’d like a choice like other hotdog places.

I got the punk hotdog along with a peanut butter milkshake! Drank most the milkshake before the hotdog so I couldn’t finish the hotdog but both were so good! would really recommend it to anyone, only reason that it didn’t get a 5 out of 5 from me was because my heart belongs to snag stand, Reasonable prices!

This place is awesome, and the food is spectacular! You could miss it walking down the street, so pay attention. It is a rather small place. The artwork is pretty legit though! The Mischief is the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted in my life. It was topped with cheddar cheese, guacamole, jalapenos, sour cream, tortilla chips. I can’t…I just can’t. My husband’s go to is the Jezebel, which has a like chili mayo flavor, salsa, shredded coconut, pineapple and bacon! I’ve had a bite, it is great!

This place has got everything down: the food, the service, the décor, the mood. Eating at run amok is a first class experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Apparently«The Punk», a southern BBQ flavored dog with bacon on top, and«Mischief», a taco inspired dog with guacamole, are the two most popular items on the menu. Once you walk in you’ll notice a very casual and cool feel. The tables are covered in «where is Waldo» paper and the chairs are drummer chairs. The booth seats are bus-themed with a bus pole with a «stop» button and bus seat cushions. As an American, I’m excited to try the chili dog, which is available every year in the month of July starting on the 4th of July. Every american gets a free Reese’s milkshake on the 4th of July and every purchase of chili dogs come with a free order of fries. There is free two hour parking across the street and free half hour parking on the same side of the street.

Quite simply the best hotdog that I’ve ever had!!! I sampled a «Rascal» which had the Bratwurst covered with cheese, coleslaw, wholegrain mustard & smokey BBQ sauce. Every mouthful was enjoyable and the portion of fries I ordered on the side was easily enough for two, thankfully I had a dining companion who helped me with those as the hotdog is so sizeable a side of fries is probably not required by all. This was all washed down with a tasty & refreshing glass of homemade lemon & ginger lemonade. I left Run Amuk feeling very satisfied & happy to sing their praises. I look forward to going there again whenever I’m next in WA!!!

I agree with everything Sath S has said a month ago, minus the milkshake bit(I don’t drink milkshakes). So here’s Sath’s review, with added commentary: «Been hearing great reviews about this lil joint so decided to give it a crack over the weekend(TWSS). The shop itself is tiny and was chock a block when we got in!(chock a block full of good lookin patrons is what’s up) Décor: Cute tables with stools(from a drum set), retro benches and a few tables pouring outside for patrons who don’t mind a lil sun(I just realised how much Sath likes to use the word „lil“). The matchbox cars on the wall certainly gives the place character and makes you wonder what they use to stick all those up there!(I’m going to guess superglue or magnets) I had the Jezebel which was amazing(right on, Sath!). Who would have thought coconut shavings on a hotdog would taste so good!(I was thinking THEEXACTSAMETHING. omg twinsies!). Not to mention the thick milkshake(I didn’t have the milkshake, so I’m going to replace it with a „lil lemon lime bitters“) Really filled me up even though it didn’t look that much to start of with(TWSS). Food was fresh and made on the spot(and hit the spot too, amirite Sath) . Best part was having endless condiments to pick from! Staff was very friendly, greeted us with a smile and took the time to explain the menu with us. Will surely visit again soon!(See you there!)»
