Pancake Pantry

Food van that can’t cope with volume of customers. Unfortunate, since the menu has many delicious sounding options on it.
We turned up here as a group of 5 and ordered pancakes of various types, all standard menu offerings. The truck is manned by one person and as such can only handle 2 orders at a time, so some of ua had a significant wait for our food.
Some of the food looked and was proclaimed delicious, unfortunately others were epic failures.
Despite the funky food van setup I won’t be back.

I’m just going to come out and say it, Pancake Pantry is a bit weird. You recognise this as soon as you walk in, but you can’t quite put your finger on it at first. Then, while you’re sat at the table, it dawns on you. This is an office building. They have office walls and office carpets. But you’re here for breakfast.
But whatever, you’re not here for décor, you’re here for pancakes. And Pancake Pantry certainly has those. And they do a good job of them as well. For $ 8 you get two savoury or two sweet pancakes, and you don’t leave hungry. They certainly load them up with the stated ingredients.
Are these fancy looking pancakes? No. Could you make them at home? Probably. But $ 8 is not bad to have them cooked for you especially if, like most people, you always bloody burn one.
Pancake Pantry is worth a slightly bemused visit, especially because a wander around Guildford is such a lovely way to spend a Saturday or a Sunday morning.
