As per usual I woke up feeling like Bacon on Saturday mroning. We were a bit stuck and wanted to go somewhere different and im so glad we ended up at Sisco. The staff are vibrant and happy to be working which always brings a great feels into a café. I ordered the Scrambled Eggs with Capsicum Relish and a side of bacon. Price wise, pretty on par with the rest of Bris. Coffee was nice. only complaint would be it was a little weak. But they were happy to dunk another shot of espresso into my coffee without any standofishnes(New word) Overall its a nice relaxing place to start the weekend. Will be back

I begin to bond with a town I am visiting when I find«my breakfast place». I have bonded with Brisbane and Sisco has a lot to do with it. I love the cozy local feel. Sharing breakfast time with school girls and business men before they start their day gets this traveler off on a good foot. The food is fabulous, healthy and inventive. The muffins are to die for and the lattes are perfect. Staff have to hustle because it is so busy but still are very friendly.

Sisco is my favourite breakfast spot in Brisbane. I used to work just down the road and would frequently have breakfast here before work. I’ve moved from the area now but I often think about my Sisco breakfasts… I must go back one weekend. Their herbed butter mushrooms with feta and rosemary mash was to die for. Such a little gem for this area.

Had friends not suggested we breakfast at Sisco deep in the streets of Spring Hill I would never have stumbled across this wonderful café nook of awesome. This would have been incredibly disappointing for I would have never been introduced to Deek’s Quinoa Bread and the french toast Sisco make with it including blueberry and lemon syrup with crème fraîche and fresh blueberries on top. You see my predicament. Even in the hight of Saturday morning breakfast Sisco was cool, calm and collected. We sat in the back courtyard and before we knew it 2+ hours had passed. It is that kind of place. The coffee is 100% fair trade organic and is delicious. We each had about 3 coffees each so no wonder we left buzzing from the walls. This is a place that has sky rocketed to my «go back to again and again» list.

What a delightful spot! On leafy Boundary Street in Spring Hill, Sisco graces the street with great breakfast, coffee and lunch options(hence the BCL after Sisco). I stopped in with my beau yesterday as I’d heard good things from friends… and we weren’t disappointed! We sat on the quaint outdoor bar area that faces the street and ordered a muffin and a serve of their banana bread to share as well as a coffee each. Despite the café being quite busy, the service was prompt and super friendly. Our coffees came out and were cups of smooth, well made brew. Not long after, our food arrived. The banana bread was, sigh, perfect! Buttery, bananary goodness! The muffin was also good(raspberry, coconut and nutmeg) but was out shined by the awesome banana bread. If you’re in the Spring Hill area and need somewhere to have breakfast and a guaranteed good coffee, than Sisco is the place to go. It’s a great place to start off a slow day, and take your time. Order that banana bread if you know what’s good for you!

SisCo is pretty swank looking in a hipster kind of way. When I went in I half expected to see a bunch of skinny jean kids on their Macbooks or something. What I found was a room packed out with middle age women drinking coffee and eating deserts. From that point on I decided to leave my preconceptions on the other side of the threshold. I entered and the girl at the coffee machine asked if I wanted anything. I asked for the menu. Perhaps she was busy, I wasn’t sure, but it was in the way her eyebrows tightened and the manner in which she kind of pointed past me saying, «Just grab one from the table», but I felt I annoyed her with this question. I turned and picked up the menu and decided to have a look out back. I found a quiet little courtyard that would seat a good amount of people, I visualised this section full of people, perhaps refuelling after a night out. I was really impressed by this café and would have to come back for a meal. When I returned to the counter the Barista, the girl from before, asked what I would like. When I informed her I just wanted a flat white, not too hot, to go, her eyebrows returned to their tightly wound positions. «Ok then,» she replied. I paid, waited, eventually got my coffee and then left. As I walked down the street to my car, I thought about taking my wife to SisCo this Saturday for a light lunch. I smiled and looked at the cup in my hand. Even if my hand felt hot, I brought the coffee to my lips. The first sip burned my tongue. It was something I didn’t expect.

Sisco is a lovely, lovely, lovely little café. My favourite thing to do on a Saturday morning is to stroll to Sisco and have a mo-fo huge brunch and feast away my Friday night ails. My picks include their organic sourdough toast with your choice of topping, and blueberry and lemon pancakes with cream(both under $ 15). I’m not a huge coffee drinker, so for a drink I’d go the tasty Veg out juice(carrot, celery, beetroot, ginger, and orange for $ 5.50) to wash away the toxins. On weekdays, you’ll find a queue of Spring Hill office workers by the shop window ordering their morning coffees, but if you’re just passing by be sure to take a seat inside for some quality breakfast. There are also tables outdoors at both the front or back, depending on whether you’re having a quiet moment by yourself with the Sunday paper(out front), or laughing with friends about last night’s events in the valley(out back). I’ve also seen people eating outside with their dogs after a morning walk and the staff are always kind to the pups. In fact, the staff comprise a huge portion of Sisco’s loveliness: they always wait on your table with a smile, are always ready to take your order, and never rush you if you’re settled in for a long D&M.
