This chain of Dick Smith occupies a small space in a small shopping centre. The smaller this places the smaller the amount of products that they have. I went to this place to buy an external hard drive and after ten minutes of searching the place(there was not a single staff available to help the customers, except the one on the register who had a line of people to tend to) I found one brand of hard drive. What should’ve taken me less than five minutes to finish the deal, took me half an hour. This place is alright for small and most obvious set of electronics, but if you want range and choices in product look somewhere else.

This is one of those places that I like to know exist. I like to know that if I urgently need some ethernet cable on a Sunday, I’ll be able to get it here. Sure, I’ll pay through the nose for it, but that serves me right for not being better prepared. There are sometimes some pretty good deals here. Things like TVs and GPSs, occasionally remote control toys, speakers, that sort of thing. Usually most of the stuff is a bit overpriced. For example, I’d normally buy HDMI cable at MSY and save a huge amount of money. The service here is pretty good though. It’s worth a look if you’re shopping for TVs and GPSs.
