Much of a muchness, Aldi is the local supermarket that has the stuff you need. In a recent refit, it’s now a lot more modern with newer fruit and vegetable stands, and a fresh layout. The centre area is full of all sorts of stuff you might not need, but always worth a browse through. My favourite — the dark chocolate. It’s cheap, and pretty good.

Staff seemed indifferent this afternoon when I popped in. In fact I forgot its pack-it– yourself here and was waiting for the checkout guy to pack my shopping but it just piled up at the end of the till which was a short, short amount of space and a high, high drop for your strawberries or bread to fall off from. Wasn’t very happy. Perhaps I should have left my snobbery at home! Anyway, lots of bargains to be had in the fresh produce section today, I’ve been told it can be hit and miss so perhaps the trick to Aldi shopping is KNOWING exactly what you want and heading straight for it. Buyer beware, things can be the same price as any regular supermarket(today it was mushrooms and various fresh berries in punnets), Asian greens and beef cuts. I think where Aldi excels are in the«generic»(foreign) brands of dry goods such as cereals, biscuits, canned food and ingredients as well as frozen items which are mostly European in origin or manufactured. I’ll remember to self– pack my shopping the next time. Oh and their pod coffee machine is so intriguing! It’s ridiculously cheap!

I love a grocery store with good deals, great food and alcohol to boot! Aldi has it all and the staff at this Aldi is amazing as well. I’m addicted to their wines and continue to try every single one, and when there’s a new one, it’s definitely been put into my trolley! I have to admit that the produce isn’t that great. If you aren’t going to eat it straight away, I’d recommend not getting it because chances are it will go bad before you do. Lucky with us, fruit and veggies don’t last long around our house. The bread always awesome. We end up getting the Rye bread, some Lebanese White Bread(to go with their delicious hummus) and some nice bread rolls for the sandwiches! Their Tasty cheese is delicious and I do prefer it to any other grocery stores cheese. The centre piece isles are so much fun as well. I love having a look at what new specials and deals are on. I always end up picking up cute little books, toys, clothes, shoes, whatever latest thing they have in their specials, for a good price. The worst time to go to Aldi is in the afternoons. If you get trolley rage then stay away! Because of the good deals, people go very slow through the store and you end up wanting to run people over!!!
