If you like eating frozen food then go here.
We got a seafood plate and calamari pack. the Calamari (squid) came out of a frozen packet and were like rubber. Seafood plate had scallops (fresh) cooked till they were rocks and then the fish was raw.
I would not eat here again. We ended up throwing the food out as we didnt want to risk food poisioning.
Called to complain and just got push back. Clamms isnt the same place since it has changed hands which is a pitty as it was one of the best in melbourne.
PITY! :-(

When it comes to ordering food I have been around the block a couple of times and believe I know what I am doing. The other night I came here when St Kilda felt like St Kilda should, there was electricity in the air and I felt like fish in the park. I popped into clams and chose a perfect fillet of Atlantic Salmon to be grilled with chips and garden salad. I was asked how I wanted my fish cooked, medium or well done, my favourite question and to be asked at a local fish and chip shop, I knew I was in for a treat. My friends on the other hand ordered just the normal fish and chips with battered fried fish of the day. They could not stop saying how oily it was and were not happy with their meal. Comes to show how important knowing how to order can be. Take my advice, pick your fish and have it grilled, for an extra couple of $$ it’s worth it.

I went here on that whim of going to the beach and getting fish and chips on the way.
Always a good idea, but a lot of the time you end up regretting the fish and chips because they can be greasy and make you feel ill. Not this time!
The fish we got wasn’t greasy or oily but tasted fresh and well cooked where the chips weren’t sickening and overall we were ecstatic with our little day out! Wasn’t expensive either, where it was pretty busy and people were coming in and out constantly happy with the fast service (I get it now… Fast Fish).
We will definitely be going back there now that summer is coming into full swing!

Clamms does fresh fish for you to take home, aswell as on the spot fish and chips. And they do it well.
There is nothing like really fresh fish and chips, full of flavour and pulled straight off the ice. I like my fish grilled from here and their chips are decent — not the best, but decent and the fish is really what you come for here. Ive also bought fresh fish to take home on many occasions, and you really cant go wrong with any of their cuts. Add some salt and lemon to some fish thats been wrapped in foli and baked in the oven… and you have yourself one delicious meal.
To my knowledge, Clamms also sells wholesale to many of Melbourne’s finest restaurants. So you may have eaten here without even knowing.
