Mix 94.5

I experienced a great inward struggle when I gave a three star rating to this radio station. I really did. Part of me wanted to lunge right in with a one star wonder rating. The other part of me thought I could take the rating up to a glowing four star review. So I went for a compromise. Three stars, it is.
It is actually really hard to give a radio station an overall rating because what they do is so varied. While I love cranking the party mix on a Saturday night on the way to Northie (not very cool, I know), I also detest the smarmy voice of the not-​so-​lovely lady they seem to employ for every 94.5 breakfast show I’ve ever heard.
The radio station is pretty bogan-​centric, as are most of the commercial radio stations in Perth and to be perfectly honest, I physically can’t stand to listen to the inane chatter of the breakfast bunch for more than a few seconds.
I do love 94.5 for the music (sometimes) but I detest it for it’s general arrogant attitude and that grating smarmy voice. Ahh!

94.5 would be amongst the most vanilla of the FM radio stations [Sonshine FM would be the other]. It plays inoffensive music, largely from the 80s and 90s, and some of the songs played makes you wonder where your music taste fled to in high school. Some generations had it worse than others, apparently — New Kids On The Block? Seriously?
However, 94.5 also play some very cheesy, if fun tracks from bands like the B-​52s. It’s fun and familiar, so 94.5 is good as background music for work without unintentionally upsetting some of your co-​workers.
