Whisk Creamery

I would like to call this my ‘phase one’ review of Whisk Creamery.
After drooling jealously over everyone’s Instagram posts of yummo looking treats we stopped in for a quick visit. I went straight for their signature ‘I eat milkshakes’, which was a pistachio milkshake with all sorts of deliciousness piled on top.
I really enjoyed the topped up ‘eating’ part of the dish, but sadly I found the milkshake itself lacking in any flava flav. It tasted like straight milk.
Hence my ‘phase two’ review requirement. Based on the number of good reviews this place has and the sheer beauty of their other desserts, I would like to give them another go.
Watch this space.

Please bring back the pandan and coconut flavoured soft serve it was to diiiieee for. I cry myself to sleep knowing I can only experience the flavours during my wet dreams.

My first visit here and I loved it. I’ve followed their Instagram for a while now and it great to finally try one of their shakes, chocolate with an additional cronut for good measure.
Staff were lovely, the shake was amazing. Sat outside and it was great to just sit back and people watch. Would definitely go again.

Oh goodness. This place is amazing. Initially it didn’t look like much from the street but do not be fooled; it is a place where wizardry occurs.
I ordered the hazelnut milkshake which was pretty nice but the real star was the caramel sandwich. A cronut sliced in half and filled with salted caramel gelato, topped with fresh whipped cream and drizzled with salted caramel sauce.
My mouth is watering just typing this out. It was absolutely intense in terms of taste and sugar. Perhaps one of the very best things I have eaten in my life.

What a great little dessert place. They serve such unique dessert dishes that makes it definitely worth the trip.

With a whisk as their table number, whisky creamery is open till late (22.30) and sells a range of gelato flavours (made on site) at reasonable prices. Get a small medium or large cup, choose your gelato flavour, add toppings and sauces and voila you have whisked yourself something delicious. Obviously this concept is not new and is what all froyo places are based on however they charge by weight whereas whisk charges per topping.
You can also get their delicious looking shakes in a massive bottle with a from It encircling the neck of the bottle. Mmm.
I had the opportunity to try their millfeuille which is their Pastry cone stuffed with Italian gelato icecream and comes with praline, almonds, and milk chocolate wafers. All for a mere $ 11.50
The millfeuille cone was cold, had crusted sugar on the top, and tasted cold. Didn’t like it one bit. But the Italian hazelnut ice cream is scrumptious. You can definitely taste the hazelnut throughout. The praline and the roasted almonds add to the flavour.
The mocha I had was awfully bitter, but it may just be the coffee bean they use. Definitely keen on trying their milkshakes and other desserts next time.
Service is quick and presentation is excellent.

I was surprised with such little on offer but I ended up opting for the monthly changing, most over indulgent piece on the menu: the «I eat milkshake».
With a creamy milkshake base, served in the totes hipster style mason jar glass, it was topped with a cronut, a pile of whipped cream, crunchy gold chocolatey sprinkles, chocolate shards and a macaron — ridiculous.
For $ 17.30, I was expecting a mouth orgasm. While it wasn’t below average, I’m not entirely convinced I got 100% value. Diabetes maybe, value, maybe not?
The milkshake component had a bitter tang, don’t get me wrong, it was still sweet but there was something a smidge off about it.
The cronut seemed a tad heavy. The outside was chewy rather than crispy but the overall flavour was good.
The cream was cream, the gold sprinkles were cool, the macaron was great — I do so love a macaron.
It was good to tick off the to do list but not somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit.

I went for the eat milkshake which was very filling. oh the guilty pleasure :) it is pricey at $ 15.
They have a website and menu online, time spent worthwhile looking at it before hand as prices vary with your selection.
Staff were friendly, service is prompt.
Go there!

Aside from the incredible sweet dessert creations that everyone raves on about, Whisk do a sensational long black!

So it’s my first time here… decided to come and check it out while the kids were truck or treating. Little store on Rokeby Road, Subiaco. Great atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. Everything is reasonably priced considering the area they are in. Nice to be able to choose to sit inside or outside. The stools hurt your ass after a while but that’s okay because i have lots of extra cushioning. Had the Chai latte with skinny milk and it was devine. I would definitely come here just for that. The desserts look amazing. Ordered a bomba and caramelo. Bit too sweet for my liking but nice to try something different. Great icecream though! Really great service and a really good time!

Some of the desserts that this place makes are full-​on.
There is one that is matcha soft serve dipped in matcha chocolate and with candy frills on top too. They also have a notorious doughnut shake — their spin on the trend involves a cronut, toasted marshmallow, pretzels, cream and choice of shake.
One can easily get carried away here, but for those who like to keep it simple try some of the soft serve on its own. They have unique flavors like matcha, taro, single origin choc, burnt vanilla, pistachio as well as a few more.
If you are a dessert fiend, you will love this place.

After heading about Whisk for a while, I decided to venture out to Subiaco when all my children were at school.
The premises is a lot smaller than I expected but the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The man behind the counter was very helpful for a first time Whisk customer, offering me different tastes of ice-​creams and sharing his preferences. Fantastic customer service.
I ordered a small cappuccino and mini alphonso which is mango & yup sorbet, sponge, chocolate gelato, Italian meringue and freeze dried mandarins.
After being given a table number with a Whisk attached, my cappuccino was delivered quite quickly as well as a bottle of cold water and a glass. The Mini Alphonso arrived from the back kitchen after a short time.
The cappuccino was lovely and not bitter and the alphonso was very delicate and very tasty.
I have enjoyed my visit to Whisk and I can already tell i will be back again and again.

Cool vibe, lovely décor and very pretty desserts! I love how they added the healthy twist to seemingly fattening dessert options. The presentation was very well done, and extremely fast service was also a bonus. However, I did find the taste a bit too overpowering for me, especially with the salted caramels. They put way too much salt in the milkshake as well as the cronut sandwich, so instead of this lovely balance you would normally expect from salt being added to sweets, you get this intense punch in the face with a chunk.
The best dish in my opinion was the bubble tea cone, the gelato was lovey and light in flavour, the pearls inside gave out a delicious change of texture and the size was perfect too! Mario’s mushroom was another delightful treat, the taro flavoured gelato was so delicious, we licked the plate clean!

A visit to Whisk Creamery has been long overdue, and we finally made it there on Saturday morning. When we first arrived there wasn’t a seat to be had, so we did a bit of shopping and were lucky to get a seat inside when we returned.
My choice was easy — a choc mint shake, with Renay ordering a «classic» chocolate one, with cream on top of course. We also shared a Ferrero Rocher cronut.
The service was fast and friendly, and the staff are obviously used to bloggers as they were careful not to get in the way of a camera! Our shakes were very nice, although I didn’t find them as life-​changing as I expected.
Certainly no complaints and I would be happy to go back, although I left wondering if Whisk Creamery has been a little over-​hyped.

My friends and I have been drooling over our phones for weeks looking at instagrams and facebook pictures of food from Whisk. On a Sunday morning well all ventured to Subiaco to give it a go, and none of us were disappointed. We all grabbed the amazing gourmet milkshakes, one of each flavour, and shared them because we couldn’t possibly have bought one each.
As we are all watching our waistlines, we decided to skip more sweet stuff for breakfast, but we’re already planning a trip for after the gym one night. (Gotta earn it)
A tip I will give is to look further than the menu board. We didn’t look at a menu so we thought there wasn’t as much on offer as we’d seen on social media, but there is, you just have to look a bit harder.

G is for gelato and at Whisk Creamery you will find the best in the West! The gelato is delicious, smooth and creamy and you will savour it to the last lick/​bite. It is gelato made with love and passion using natural ingredients with no additives or artificial flavours or colourings. For those of you who prefer a sorbet there are many to choose from. The toppings are colourful and fun adding an extra flavour boost!
I have enjoyed the mango sorbet with dark chocolate and the wonderful black sesame gelato. The decadent treat of bitter chocolate, caramel coated almonds and churros was a showstopper! Other items on offer are fresh pastries, cronuts and ice cream creations. I can recommend the Ferrero Rocher cronut, it is mouth-​wateringly good! I always order a macchiato and it is always expertly made. Next time I plan on trying one of their marvellous milkshakes!
Service has always been exceptional and the staff are always cheerful. This quality of service has never wavered from the day they opened to the present.
No visit to Subiaco is complete without a treat from Whisk Creamery!

You are guaranteed to walk out of Whisk 5kgs heavier! Avoid at all costs if you are on a diet!

The gourmet shakes range will fill your daily kilojoule allowance in one drink, the stuffed cronuts will be the envy of your friends on Instagram and the choc dipped gelato cones will have icecream running down your arms if you try to pick it up.
Definitely a spot for sharing with friends!

Diabetes as a service! (the techs will get that joke)
This place is a cathedral to that celebrated sugar confection known as ice cream, that’s joined by all of its worthy friends.
The problem is that when you come to worship at this dessert altar, there’s a distinct lack of pews inside. On a busy night, you’ll be hard pressed to get a seat and may have to wait a while — or settle for something you can order as take away.
But when you’ve finally secured a seat, the whisk in front of you that’s your table number will guide their skilled ‘artisans’ in your direction, bringing a silver platter of goodness that will make your dentist recoil in horror on your next visit.
Humorous and religious themed references aside — Sure, you may want to go the soft serve — but you simply cannot resist their gourmet sundaes. Like you, we couldn’t resist getting our spoons into our orders — and how could you with descriptions like these:
«A CRONUT sandwiched with SALTED CARAMEL gelato, HOMEMADE salted caramel sauce and topped with whipped CREAM and more salted caramel sauce»
If that hasn’t got you setting your car or phone’s GPS to their location, I honestly don’t know what will.
Tip: Can be a good place to people watch during the day, and don’t be surprised at night if you bump into some of the good and the great of Perth wandering in and out of here. We spied at least one very well known Perth-​based test cricketer during our visit, treating his very lucky kids and their friends with sundaes that would have had them bouncing off the walls all night.
Things to watch for: Avoid the coffee — Sorry, but my coffee drinking friends who’ve tried this place all tell me it should be avoided. Bad beans, often burnt, not a great taste at all.

I have been looking forward to trying this place out for a long time and have been following them on Instagram drooling every time they put up a post. We went last night for a bit of dessert and ordered the caramel sandwich… I have to say it was a total let down! I was so disappointed! It didn’t taste terrible… but it was very average. The cronut tasted stale and a bit hard, and the salted caramel gelato had a weird artificial taste to it. I was super bummed as I had been looking forward to trying whisk for so long… and sadly it didn’t live up to those gorgeous insta shots!

I visited Whisk for a third time on the weekend and once again I was impressed.
Previously I have sampled their excellent gelato (chocolate and hazelnut) and loved it but after reading a review for their milkshakes I thought I would give liquid dessert a go.
The chocolate milkshake was delicious and rich. When ordering I was asked whether I wanted whipped cream on top (I didn’t, but I like being asked).
Whisk also have a selection of pastries available as well as a few sandwiches and coffee.
Their gelato is some of the best I’ve had in Perth. It’s served out of a machine similar to soft serve or frozen yogurt but their flavours are on point. There is also the option of adding toppings (cookies, chocolate chips etc) and sauces which are made on sight.
Whisk have recently added some «desserts» to their menu which I will most definitely be returning to sample.
