If you live in Surfers Paradise, it is SO worth it to make a short 15 mins walk to Bumbles. Even the name suggests how fun the place would be, and it sure was. Bumbles look like your typical neighbourhood suburban brunch joint, except it has more of a homely charm to it. The décor is very thought out and it just looks so inviting from the outside and inside. The food itself is outstanding. I love that they do lots of in-house homemade stuff, like their honey and bread. You can just taste the quality of the food here, it’s so different. I got the beef rissoles and my partner got the banana toast. Despite them being simple food with simple ingredients, they’ve cooked it to absolute perfection. The shakes were a delight as well.

Bumbles is a little café with a simple, homely vibe along the waterfront in Surfers Paradise. It’s away from the main tourist hustle and bustle, and a lovely way to end a weekend away. Almost every time I dine somewhere at the Gold Coast I feel slightly underwhelmed. It’s like eating at the airport. It’s not that the food is necessarily bad… It’s just nothing overly special and at a price point that doesn’t correlate with the food quality. That’s how I felt dining at Bumble’s. The breakfast was fine. Coffee was okay. Scrambled eggs on toast with bacon was okay. But, to me, $ 17 for a plate of bacon and eggs is pushing it. I feel if you’re going to charge that much then you should be doing something a bit more special.

Great little café with water views. Menu revolves. Had the skewers, they were fantastic! Peanut sauce based and meat was tender. Laid back out door seating. only a few seats inside.

I don’t really understand the bad reviews for this place. I came here with my Aunt for breakfast one morning. The décor is very charming and cozy and the food was superb. I did not find the prices too overwhelming and the menu selection was abundant. I ordered the salmon roti and my aunt ordered the avocado, tomato, and feta toast with a side of bacon. Everything was fresh and tasty. We both had coffees as well and my mocha was the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back!

Bumbles is cute, unfortunately that’s the only positive I could think of. Thursday nights have a set dinner menu at $ 50 per person, which ended up being extremely overpriced for an average three course meal. I didn’t try their coffee.

On the recommendation of friends we tried Bumble’s and were disappointed. Food /coffee were of decent quality and the décor was cute(if a little tired), however the service left a lot to be desired. Staff attitude was ho-hum and attentiveness was terrible. We had to get up to find someone to get a menu, again had to seek out staff to place an order and then our dishes sat around for far too long. On the strength of that I won’t be back.

Time for coffee(and cake when we are back at Christmas — just couldn’t fit it in on this visit) at Bumbles on the foreshore of Budds Beach. This place is so Gold Coast it’s not funny. The café resembles part beach shack, part fine dining restaurant with small rooms spread out with their very own theme. With the sun out in full show we took a seat outside on he footpath for our coffees. But if you are not close enough to the water you can go and get a table and bench across the road on the beach and service will come to you. As mentioned we didn’t try the cakes but the coffee was decent enough.
