Melbas has been a staple of the Surfers Paradise nightclub for decades and with good reason! No matter what you are searching for, you will find it somewhere within these sparkly, well kept walls– whether its cheap, delicious food or a night of debauchery with friends this night spot will deliver in spades.
If its a meal you’re after come in around lunch and you’ll be able to score yourself a $ 10 meal that will be more than enough to fill your belly. I find that the steak or the parmigiana are always good options to go with, top it all off with chips and a drink of choice– can’t get much better than that!
Melbas is also a nightclub come 9.30pm and pride itself on awesome music, great vibe and fast bar service. If it’s your birthday they will serve you a giant fishbowl with the cocktail of your choice FOR FREE!!!
They also host a metal nightclub called ‘The Abyss Club’ in their back function room once every month or two which is pretty bad ass.

Usually I come here for the $ 10 lunch specials a little bit after 12 when they first open, however I have been here on one occasion for about one hour on a big night out. For the lunch specials I have tried the Chicken Breast & Grilled Fish — both include salad, chips, and a beverage of your choice which can be a beer or glass of wine. I prefer the Grilled Fish out of the two as the Chicken Breast was rather standard and nothing special.
I actually enjoyed the atmosphere more than I thought I would on the night that I came here as part of a backpackers big night out. It’s easy to see that people are having fun and enjoying themselves here… also the drinks are reasonably priced compared to most bars and clubs that I’ve been to around here.
