This café has a great vibe overall. A relaxed atmosphere without the attitude. The food is great with some decent vegetarian and healthy options. They also have some decadent dishes and milkshakes if you want to indulge. The staff is friendly and helpful. It took a while to establish itself but it’s now become one of my favourite cafes in Surry Hills.

Originally stopping on a cycle on a winters day this place was second choice. We initially took an outside table but the cooler weather got the better of us and we moved inside. No issues with staff adjusting their timing to deliver us our order, attitude free and with a sincere smile. The coffee was great and the poached chicken and haloumi salad was served warm, catering for the weather with a very healthy and tasty lunchtime meal. The place was busy and not noisy, staff were friendly with no attitude.

What a DISASTER! this place is a must avoid. They didn’t have enough menus to start with so we waited 15 mins to read a menu, they forgot to make one of our 2 meals, they forgot the poached egg on my meal, and the haloumi in the haloumi fritter. The coffees were cold, and the wait staff are over worked.

On the site of formerly red wallpapered Fify Foveaux is now a new café with a similarly positive name, Cup Half Full. When I got there the business had just moved in, and some items seemed they were not unpacked yet, or it was meant to be there to look trendy. These days anything goes. That raw look is so Surry and Darlo. Is this a moving box? No it’s a decorative item. Ah, so what about this«decorative item» over there? Well, that’s a broom I forgot to stow away. Noooo, it’s not an actual conversation I had. While the place was a bit dim when I got there, it was actually pretty finished. Oh, you wanna know what the food and drinks were like? Pardon me, I only had a coffee, but that one was respectable and with good nutty character. Go there, get one and say ‘Hi’ to the new owner.
