Went to this joint a couple of weeks ago for brunch. The place was bustling with people! There was 8 of us so we ushered to the waiting area for a couple of mins. No one came to order our coffee while we wait but stuff was pleasant enough to assure us it won’t be a long wait. We ordered a variety of bites to share and some mains. Overall I felt the serving portions weren’t that great considering the price that came with it. The only dish that stood out was the gnocchi. Light and fluffy :) The chips were a hit and miss, one was crispy and the other serve which came with the fish wasn’t that fresh. The butter coffee did not do it for me. The waiter that served the coffee did make a comment when serving the coffee saying that he can’t drink them either which was rather strange! Service was very slow and I was kinda expecting it already seeing how busy there were. Oh well at least they have an amazing view and a great outdoor setting. ;)

You know… I actually enjoyed it. The food was pretty good. The service was good and the venue was really good. The salmon that I had was a touch underseasoned for my liking, but cooked perfectly. The corn on the cob was fantastic. Live jazz made the night. Groovy man.

This year I’ve been to the Naked Fig on three separate occasions — a degustation, a cooking class and a blogger dinner — and I can honestly say I’ve felt beyond spoiled on every occasion… and so have the people I’ve brought along to these events. Located on the stunning Swanbourne beach, The Naked Fig makes the most of it’s surroundings. A large outdoor dining area and open indoor dining area looking out of the wall of glass windows/doors means you are always in for a spectacular view no matter where you choose to sit. Gorgeous sparkling sunlit water and glowing beaches give way to romantic sunsets and a lovely interior design that truly comes alive in the evening. And the staff continue to bring out the best of The Naked Figs wonderful atmosphere with their consistently polite, friendly and attentive service. The Naked Figs menu is seasonal, and provides plenty of vegetarian items and vegan options. You won’t need to beg, plead, miss out or be judged here, because the dishes you’ll be choosing from are guaranteed to make even the most devout carnivore question their meaty loyalty. But don’t worry meat eaters, I guarantee you have not been overlooked. From tender lamb to melt in the mouth beef, pork and juicy poultry and seafood, there is going to be something on the menu that makes your heart skip a beat or two, and makes any of your veggie guests question their moral compass. It doesn’t matter if you’re vegan or a carnivore, a health freak or the indulgent type, there is going to be something spectacular for you… so much so you’re likely to find yourself wondering whether the dish was somehow created just for you and your taste-buds. And for all those veggie, vegan and gluten free lovers out there surrounded by die-hard steak fans, or all of you carnivores who have found themselves partnered with a vegetarian, vegan or gluten free eater, The Naked Fig has found a great way to satisfy and impress both parties. On Tuesdays the Naked Fig does«Vego Tuesday», where half the menu is devoted to vegetarians, vegans and gluten free-ers, whilst the other half is dedicated to carnivores, so much so it actually says ‘herbivores’ and ‘carnivores’ on the menu. The dessert portion of the menu never fails to deliver either with a selection of sweet treats and savoury cheeses to satisfy anyone, and give you the perfect excuse to stay a while longer. And don’t worry beverage buffs, you’re covered too, with the drinks menu offering everything from perfectly matching wines to beers, cocktails and creamy(grass fed) butter coffee which really packs a rich punch. Simply put, as far as restaurants go in Perth the Naked Fig is definitely in my select top handful. Whether you’re trying to treat your partner, spoil your mum, or give your bride a wedding to remember, I recommend giving the Naked Fig a try. Just be aware the chances are you’ll end up being devotedly hooked like me and smiling widely every time the place is mentioned… but there’s nothing wrong with that.

Last night we had some amazing food at the Naked Fig. Let me just start by saying if you are on a diet don’t read this! Butter coffee… if you need a wakeup call this blows everything else out of the water! Full of good fats it is something all coffee lovers must try! Gnocchi with candied walnuts! One moment when a vegetarian dish wins hands down! Actually just send me a plate of candied walnuts! Dessert, the brownie was just to die for!

After a few months in Australia, I was slowly getting desperate to eat really good food. Don’t get me wrong, I eat well here. It’s just that unless you’re willing to pay a good amount of money to get youself to a proper restaurant(i.e., one without a burger on the menu), which I cannot do on a backpacker’s budget, the options of eating out are usually limited to pizza, fish and chips or chips and fish or whatever. And don’t even think about eating Australian — bush food is for the uneducated(no really, we’ve been told that several times!), the rest belongs on your sunday barbie and nowhere else. I was therefore elated when we were offered a free(yes, you read that correctly, free) dinner for two here. We had heard raving comments about this place and its food. My hopes were arisen; I would finally eat really good restaurant food here. This made my fall hurt even more. Sure, the atmosphere was nice, the service was very attentionate and friendly and I’m sure the view on the ocean during the day must be quite the sight. But the food was the blendest food I have ever had in a restaurant. I’m sure there’s some good reason why no one uses salt anymore but really, does that mean you can’t use any other herbs or spices either? Everything we received, from the tempura, to the spicy sausage to the pork teriyaki had absoultely the same taste, that is, none whatsoever. And that doesn’t mention the dessert, which, finally, gave our tastebuds a shake, though not the one we would have liked. The pie had one taste: Butter. The chocolate fondant another: Chilli(sure it was a chocolate and chilli fondant but could you at least get some chocolate taste in there? Please? Hint: Use real quality dark chocolate, at least 70%, that should help) Anyway, it was nice to go out and feel like locals for one evening but thanks whoever that it was free — we probably would have spent around 100 $ for two, and it definitely was not worth half of that.

We went to the Fig for a quiet meal on a Wednesday night as I had a voucher for a free main, and hadn’t been in a while we decided to go down. The place wasn’t super busy but after we had been seated, the staff seemed preoccupied with other business and never returned to take our order. After 20 minutes and none of the four floor staff even coming close to make eye contact, we got up and left. It was so bad that not even a free meal could convince us to stay. Its not the first time that we have experienced poor service at this Fig and the Scarborough one, but it will most certainly be the last. It wasn’t even all that busy — the least you could have done would be offer us a drink just after we were seated. All we were given was a menu and then left to starve!

I absolutely adored this little gem of a place in Swanbourne. Breathtaking panoramas of the ocean. Funky, artsy, eclectic atmosphere. Awesome menu that caters well to vegetarians and apparently changes fairly regularly, hopefully suggesting a nod to seasonal/local items. The food itself was scrumptious. Mid-range prices and the only real downside was that the service was a bit slow. That being said, it was a public holiday and extremely busy, the service was friendly when it came, the food was worth waiting for, and we certainly didn’t object to the view and atmosphere in the meantime. A great spot for catching up with friends or a romantic date. I will definitely be looking forward to another trip back here!

Firstly the naked fig is in a cracking location, right on the Swanny beach, just perfect for a coffee after that morning dip. Secondly the balcony is huge and awesome for getting some rays, or watching the sunset with a beer in hand. The décor inside is a little quirky and fun, along with the service which is normally quite good. Breaky is the best meal to grab here, lunch and dinner seem to be so so. However great spot so check it out if your around.

We went to the naked fig for Sunday lunch with my family. The setting is really nice over looking the beach and the décor suits the beach style. The girl who was serving our table was really upbeat and cheerful. My parents ordered the seafood platter and they thought it was alright. They said they have had better as the seafood was slightly over cooked but it was nice. I ordered the steak sandwich and so did my partner and it was really good and a massive portion size. We all shared bread and dips and to be honest the dips were pretty disgusting. The bead however was a nice mix of rye and Turkish bread suitable for all. For drinks I ordered a chai latte which was pretty bad and would recommend you avoid but they do have a good alcohol menu as well. I saw that they had a kids corner which would be nice for family’s and a play ground out the front as well.

Love the views here they are truely amazing. Love taking friends down to the view then playing with our kids at the cute park at the front, also seems like a great dog walking area. The staff are hit and miss with always some sort of issue. Foods hit and miss, seems pre cooked in part like pancakes etc and I am almost amazed at how quick it comes out like… too quick if you get my drift. The juices are a good size and I don’t think it’s ridiculously priced but more standard. The coffee isn’t bad. Ice chocs are always good. Baby cinos have too much milk not enough froth. my son covered himself first sip. But the play area for children is good for My to go sit at the couch or chill at the table which my family did on a Saturday — Easter Saturday and it really wasn’t overly busy, they were attentive food was good, so not too many complaints on that day. The eggs bacons pancakes and maple syrup was a good choice besides wondering if the pancake could have been fresher hotter and fluffier.

Stars are for this views. Lets not get confused here. First came the coffee. Decaf latte with a bit of honey in it. It was sweet and nicely done. Then comes a small saucer of honey. I politely tell the waiter that I’ve already got honey and he insists that its the sweetness of their coffee. I think I can tell the difference of a shot of honey in a 4oz cup and the one without. Food took like, 4 days. Seriously. I’ve finished my thesis, took a shower and celebrated another three birthdays. Seriously. Not a single stop by at our table to tell us how long it’ll be or to say, you know, sorry. Food came and, well it was ok. My eggs on fire was put together poorly. It lacked the kick it promised so it was a bit unsatisfying. We wanted one extra egg, there were two. Pancakes were so drenched in the syrup that it was borderline baby food consistency. Oh well. It happens. Never again.

Lovely, friendly staff. No wait time for a Saturday breakfast although it was busy! DELICIOUS food, great deals for your birthday! Such a nice place to come to, perfectly located on the beach but not amongst the riff raff at cott. I would go every day if I could.

Great place to catch up with friends. I would give a happy 4; had to drop a star though for the truly disappointing work from the bar staff. I do understand it is a long weekend and they are busier than usual, but it took 40min and asking staff three times to get our bottle of wine. Sadly we could see the bar and the delay was nothing but inattentiveness. The waiters were run off their feet serving everyone, but the bar was in their own little world. Your own mileage may vary. The food was great to make up for it. And the servers very apologetic about the bar delays. It was still a great night, as we were in no rush. So I will recommend it if your situation is similar. Relax, enjoy the amazing view.

The thing I love most about this place? The atmosphere. It’s nice and secluded, away from the Cottesloe Beach crowds. I love how the deck allows for incredible views of the beach and there’s a very relaxed vibe all around. Found the coffee to be okay, nothing special. They do some great juices and smoothies and I was pleasantly surprised to find some creative vegan options on the menu! I’ve only ever had coffee, breakfast or brunch here, but they do open for dinner as well I believe. If you’re a big group, definitely book ahead as there’s almost always a line in the morning. Staff are super friendly and paying is really easy — they sort out the bill at your table. Not the cheapest joint in Perth, but hey, the views are pretty incredible and well worth it on a beautiful summer day!

Places like this really annoy me. I want to say it’s not good enough to rely on your fabulous location to get you by, but the aggravating thing is that it is, at least to an extent. Unfortunately, in order to treat interstate or international visitors to the gorgeous coastal vista, fresh ocean air and relaxed set up of The Naked Fig, it seems people will have to put up with slow and snippy service. The food was fine. The high tea we had included some winners and some average pieces, but most high teas do. Prices are pretty standard for Perth.

SERVICE ! SERVICE ! SERVICE ! I have been here quite a few times due to the convenience and fantastic location. They are really hit and miss and inconsistent with both the level of service and sometimes the food which is so disappointing! The prime location is the only consistent thing. I have experienced both extremes with service from the best to the worst. I recommend not going there whilst they are busy as they fail on service more often during busy times. The food is ok BUT the value is questionable. Even more so when the service is poor. They’re a 2.5 Star rating in my book because they’ve really let me down on the service on more than one occasion. If you’re going to check this place out I recommend a quiet afternoon drink on a weekday and something to nibble on with good company. Watch that sunset over the Indian ocean and you may just experience a 4 – 5 star experience and not feel too depressed parting with your hard earned dollar.

The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of the views. The simply stunning panorama of the coast saves this place form a 1 — 2 star review. The food was average and they had added not one, not two, but three extra meals to our bill plus 2 extra cappuccinos, when no one at our table ordered cappuccinos. The worst part is the waiter came to our table at the end of the meal and told us how much the bill was, they don’t print out an itemized bill, unless you ask for it.

My reflections on The Naked Fig. In short; — Food — average, does not give Vegetarian a good name, for shame! — Coffee — weak, two would do the trick — Ocean views, *ahhhhh* — Smoothes — Expensive glasses of Y-U-M

The Naked Fig is the Swanbourne branch of the various Fig establishments, overlooking Swanbourne Beach [the infamous nudist beach, although nudists are not always visible]. The décor at the Naked Fig is both intimate and upscale, and the staff have a casual and friendly attitude — they didn’t bat an eyelid at three barefoot people who had just stepped off the beach for a cold drink. Their drinks don’t disappoint, with their mango iced tea a lovely blend of mango, mint leaves and a frozen mango floating amongst the ice cubes. Their tapas, available in the afternoon, has some decadent choices such as tempura soft shell crab. The service at the Naked Fig is a little too casual for their own good, and it can take a little while for someone to take your order. However, it is a very nice place to relax, unwind and take in the ocean view.
