One of the more authentic and solid korean restaurants if I may say so, and I just may thanks to my korean heritage. Along with Se Jong in Campsie, this place –was once called«Boom Bi Na” — is a bit of a gem even if there are dozens of Korean restaurants to choose from in this crowded and heavily populated part of Sydney. I used to come here with all sorts of people, mostly before the renovation, and always had fun eating here. I would personally recommend: galbi jim –bone-in, stewed beef with chunky radishes and carrots topped with chopped spring onions, sesame seeds, and egg scramble strips served in a hot stone bowl-, any of their hotpots –e.g., boo dae hotpot-, and sizzling spicy squid. Their side dishes are varied and tasty –with complimentary refills-, and I also always fancied their cool barley tea served in place of water. It’s a cozy space with about a dozen tables, but has own bathroom. I hope they’ll still be around by the time I next visit Sydney!

Decided to make an amendment to my previous review. There is now a liquor license and also a very good happy hour deal — cheapest in Sydney for a restaurant. $ 3 for a beer, $ 5 or $ 6 for a soju. Although you have to come *before* 5 to get the happy hour. The food seems significantly improved, and the menu is definitely a lot more flashy. Other than that, everything unchanged. Usual friendly service.

Ordered the soups. Was good, but not as good as Daejangkum which is only across the road…
