Ordered the Grilled steak chipotle burrito bowl(on the ‘spicey’ menu), which came with 4 corn chips and for $ 2 extra a good serve of guacamole. Plain rice underneath everything was a bit of a flavourless filler. I prefer some sort of Mexican rice with colour and an added flavour kick to the dish, like you get elsewhere. Black Beans also were served dry rather than the usual cooked down moist variety. Steak was cut into 1 cm cubes. I prefer my steak chunky so I can bite into each piece. Paid $ 1 extra for steak. Steak goes cold quicker when it’s cut so small — my meal felt more like a salad then a hot lunch, once you mix through several cold items like the pico. Overall, nothing wowed me so giving it three stars.

Better than qdoba and chiptole in my opinion. Fixes my craving for mexican food. Hot sauces could use some tweaking. Love that u offer u freshly chopped cilantro.

Guzman y Gomez is a Mexican food chain in AU. It offers similar food items to what you’d find in the American«Chipotle» locations, albeit without the visual effects. The World Square location in Sydney is a basic yet solid mex food fix, serving the staples of the cuisine, such as burritos and burrito bowls, salsa & chips, quesadillas etc. Taste is actually good, portions are filling. Hot salsa is actually hot(!) so be careful if you’re not very adept with the habanero. Prices are average+, they accept cash and cards. I would come here again for a pulled pork burrito, which was pretty tasty.

Great service first thing in the morning! Really loved all the vegetarian choices and fillers available here. Heard from a few locals their guac was amazing. Good guac but a lot, a lot of onions. Could’ve been my batch. I had the Guac on fresh sourdough toast and it was completely filling for breakfast. They aren’t skimmers on it either. Decent portion of guac. My co workers love their $ 5 breakfast burrito and have been coming back every morning. Looks like they have current promotions and daily specials.

This was my first time at this location, though not my first at GyG. This location is less organized than their counterparts in Perth. We arrived 40min prior to closure and already the hot sauces and condiment cups from the condiment bar had all been taken away along with the napkins. The staff eventually put it back out at one station but it took a couple individuals asking. This wasn’t an inconvenience to us since we were eating in but there were individuals waiting with take out to get hot sauces before leaving. In addition to our normal veggie and barramundi burritos we also had nachos this time. The nachos were very underwhelming. The bean and cheese to nacho ratio was all off and the cheese wasn’t spread evenly but in two clumps on either side. I won’t be ordering them again.

Not as good as the King’s Cross outlet. Still, very tasty Mexican with all the hot-sauce you can handle.

Hola! Que tal? My relentless pursuit for good«Mexican» food continues. This is my second time having GyG, but the first time at this location. Very conveniently located near the center of World Square. It definitely gets a lot of foot traffic. I wasn’t surprised to see how busy it was during the lunch rush. I’ve been craving a nice steak burrito for a while and I think I’ve exhausted my search for good Mexican food nearby so I decided to to give GyG another go. Marinated Steak Burrito for $ 10.90 Where’s the STEAK!!! I took two(2) huge bites of my burrito thinking they might have forgotten the steak since all I tasted was the Jack Cheese and Pico de Gallo. I finally uncovered the steak on my third bite. The steak was tender and spicy. The Chipotle marinade was just right. The burrito would have been better if there wasn’t so much filler and more meat. It was basically a veggie and rice burrito with a few bits of steak in there. I remember the King’s Cross location being much more filling and feeling very satisfied. Not sure what’s going on at this location. If you’re in the area, you’d get a better bang for your buck at MADMEX. They don’t offer free hot sauces like at GyG, but at least you can see what they’re putting into your burrito.
