My coffee was absolutely disgusting. I was hoping this would be a good coffee place because the lines are always long and the reviews from everywhere are high. Maybe I got a bad batch, but I could barely drink this coffee… so close to throwing it out, but needed my caffeine hit. Might try this place again in the future after I’ve made my way around to the other coffee joints in the vicinity.

Been walking up and down King St for ages and no idea there was a small coffee joint with daily bakes and sandwiches with long queues every day! They use Toby Estate beens and I’m pretty sure they blend their own mix and gives out a really unique taste that’s obvious to the palette they’re different. Haven’t had their sandwiches before but their muffins are pretty epic and HUGE! Only thing I don’t like about them is they’re located where everyone lines up to pay and chances are you’re sharing each other’s saliva … But meh, yolo right?

My daily morning and sometimes in the afternoon coffee joint! Serving great Toby estate coffee, and fresh baked muffins that are still warm when I get them. Service is efficient and never have to wait too long.

I have been going past this tiny café on a bus for quite a few months now and I decided to give this place a go(if you have read my reviews, you’d know I’m a very loyal fan of another café very close by). I felt like I was cheating on my barista. But I did it anyway haha. They obviously have a great blend because the coffee smelt great. The aroma was strong and arousing for the nose. I ordered a large latte($ 3.50) — they do sandwiches and other things too though. BUT! Despite the fantastic blend, my coffee was warm. So disappointing. I like my coffee hot, and it seemed that this barista had not quite got the coffee: milk ratio right this time. What did make up for it was the great service. The guy who took my order was super friendly and happy, putting me in a good mood too! And I personally love the all black cups, makes me feel, I don’t know, like a spy or something haha. To sum it up, worth trying out but I don’t know if this place is worth cheating on my barista again!

So this hole in the wall — literally — is 3.5 stars, but I gave it 4 stars because of the people that work here. They make Disneyland workers look depressed. Seriously, these guys are lovely, had a good chat about my day and how my week is going. The coffee here is weak, and will be more preferred by milk coffee drinkers. Sadly this place is way too close to Mecca, which is coffee I would die for. However, saying that they have amazing muffins and little pastry eats — all made there. It is worth checking this place out if you prefer softer coffee, especially if you are a capaccuino drinker.

Dearest Unilocal Powers Can we please get some extra stars up in here? With the vast range of competing coffee shops, its quite difficult to rank them all on a scale of 1 – 5. Take Joe Black X here, these guys make a decent brew. Not Gumption good, and not as weak as Ground Control(which admittedly received bonus points for the amazing mo and great personality the barista rocks) — no, Joe Black X ranks slightly below Klink, but a 3 star rating would be an insult and really wouldn’t do this hole-in-the-wall justice, so I have to give it 4. Which would make it an 8, with Klink at 9 and Gumption at 10 — and make me very, very perky.

Another(said rolling eyes) hole in the wall café that’s opened up in the CBD recently, thankfully this joint is one of the better examples with fine coffee, a boutique offer and great setting
