Laksa Laksa is serious about the laksa(and I’m sure, the other food they serve) but not much else. If you’re someone who likes your restaurants and service level to be fancy, this isn’t the place for you. However, if you want a really good bowl of laksa for less than 10 bucks this is the place! I had the fish tofu laksa — the broth is full of flavour and not too overwhelmed by the coconut milk(a laksa pet hate of mine). For the price it was, the serving size is quite generous. It’s a good spot if you’re alone and want a quick fix, not really a spot to enjoy a long lunch over conversation with friends.

Laksa Laksa has a nice quiet and friendly vibe to it when I visited. It was a Monday night at around 8pm. The place was very quiet but the host was very welcoming and glad to see me coming in. The menu is outside the door so it makes selection very easy which must help during the peak trading times. I decided to go for the Sea Food Laksa which comes in at a price of $ 9.90 which is quite reasonable because the portion size is pretty big. The flavour of the Laksa was really good and while it wasn’t overly spicy it certainly did the job for me. They do have an option for extra toppings for $ 0.50 if you wanted but decided not to upgrade. Was good servings of seafood in the broth. I came across octopus, calamari and mussels. I was satisfied with the place but perhaps if they didn’t charge for the extras I would make it a more regular spot. Is better spots for sure but it’s very close to Town Hall and its a good spot if you don’t want to line up and wait.

Apparently this used to be the Laksa joint housed in an obscure corner of the QVB building. I remember having Laksa there back in the day as a break from shopping trips. I can’t recall if those bowls of Laksa taste the same as the current Laksa Laksa broth. I dropped into this rather large casual eatery on a chilly Thursday evening and there were a handful of customers. Prices are quite reasonable and I went for the safe order of chicken Laksa. Not long after taking my seat, a steamy bowl of Laksa goodness came out. I thought the broth was quite decent and I quite enjoyed my quick dinner. The bowl was quite plentiful with chicken pieces, tofu, bean sprouts and 2 types of noodles — traditional vermicelli and some hokkien egg noodle. I would probably return if I was near the area but it’s probably not something I’d go out of my way to get. There are plenty of Laksa options in the city these days.

Pretty good takeaway laksa! Could be a titch spicier but they included extra chili on the side so all good. I got a combination laksa and next time would go chicken, because the super tender chicken was AWESOME!!! If you love seafood get that — there was a whole tiny octopus included in the combination laksa.

Hi all. I was there yesterday and tried their chicken laksa, however, I started to feel stomachache after 1 hour. After I arrived home, I was very sick and kept on vomiting and diarroha for the whole night. I think the laksa was not fresh or something wrong. I will give them a call today and reported this to food safety authority. If anyone had this experience before in this restaurant?

I love this place! I am normally a big eater & I love my flavoursome food. This place ticks both of those with generous servings & loads of flavour in the food. My favourite is any of the laksa. I try and visit here whenever I am in the city and need a meal. My wife and daughter love coming here as well whenever we come to the city shopping. Stoooz

No frills, No fuss, No EFTPOS, Great Food. Last Friday night a few of us went in search of a quick feed in a part of the city we don’t normally visit, and as it was late we were about to settle on takeaway burgers when we happened along this wonderful find tucked away behind the main drag on Park Street at Town Hall. Laksa Laksa is a very simple looking dine in place that is obviously all about the food. They don’t serve you at your table, they don’t serve your drinks in glasses, they don’t offer alcohol and they only take cash. None of this matters a whit as it’s not designed as a great meeting place, or for spending a night catching up with mates; it’s all about sitting down to a very generous sized and tasty meal, and they do it well! One of our group is vegetarian, and they were very happy to modify her Laksa to exclude the standard Shrimp paste, which was a great sign, as it meant that at 9.30pm we weren’t getting pre made broth reheated in the microwave. Meals ordered, we were only seated for about 10 minutes when our food came out, and it was good. Although I ordered the Laksa, I tried a friend’s Hokkein noodle dish and it was divine, So all three of us were really pleased with our meals. The serving sizes were so generous that it took us a good 20 minutes to get through our meals. Best of all is that including drinks the three of us ate for a little over $ 30 total so it’s excellent value. I was so impressed that I tried to eat there again on the Saturday night, as I had noticed Gado Gado on the menu and imagined it would be really good. Unfortunately they were closed, so although I am not certain I assume they don’t serve dinner on the weekends, which is a pity as it would be a great pit stop to make on a night out at the pub. I would highly recommend Laksa Laksa to any one fond of Asian eateries, and I look forward to trying the Gado Gado next time I am there.

I like spicy Asian food. Maybe I even love it. During my recent week in Sydney, I came across a decent find. Only one step up from being a hawker’s stand in the middle of a busy Asian city, Laksa Laksa serves up a decent soup. Service is perfunctory, lighting is fluorescent, tables are cheap quality, soup bowls deep, food cheap as chips and plentiful. I couldn’t finish my combination laksa that was full of identifiable meat and seafood, with the right amount of noodles and fresh stuff. Nice and spicy, without having to load in extra chilli. It hit the spot.

One of the best and cheapest Laksa places in the Sydney CBD, this has been one of my goto places for a nice cheap Laksa. I’d give this place 5 stars if they accepted cards too, but being that this place is cheap it’s almost a non issue.
