The coffee here is bloody awesome! Honestly, it’s always served at the optimal temperature, it’s always got a strong kick to it, the baristas are friendly, I have no complaints… Until it comes to my Vegemite toast! You’d think the stuff is made of gold and they can’t stand to part with it. I always ask for my wholemeal toast to have ‘extra Vegemite’ and sometimes I get the extra black gold spread on my toast. But most days, the ‘extra Vegemite’ looks like this! What is with the reluctance to give the customer what they want? Pavel & Co is an amazing lunch place. All the food on their lunch menu is a pleasure to eat, as is most of their breakfast menu. However, they just seem to struggle to get the ‘extra Vegemite’ on.

I love their pork belly bun for breakfast, crackling and all! If you like to upgrade from your usual bacon & egg roll, this is highly recommended!

Pavels would have a 5 star rating from me but they recently changed their roast pork and it’s not as good as it used to be. They offer boxes with rice or potato with salad and meat as well as sandwiches. Luckily for me they are great at letting you pick and choose. I’ve tried a few combos but my fave is the roast pork with the cauliflower salad. The salad is roast cauli, still crunchy, with pepitas, currants and kale. Perfect with roast pork and a thin sliver of crackling. YUM! Warning — it get’s super busy at lunchtime. If you want to eat in get there by noon.

Amazing coffees! Really great flavours, strong and smooth. My daily ritual includes thinking about one on the way to work and treating myself in the mornings to get me through the day. Also love the breakfast menu and trendy, modern warehouse-type fit-out.

Di Gabriel coffee is one of my favourites and these guys do it well. The only complaint I would possibly make is that sometimes they can get quite busy, The sign of a good vendor I guess!!!

First time at Pavel and I was suitably impressed. Great choices on the menu and at very affordable prices. Cheeseburger was fantastic with a very healthy(or not so healthy) portion of fries, filling the plate! Finished off my meal by ordering a quality flat white using PayPal which was effortless and worked like a charm. Not a very big space for groups to eat, but we did manage to get 8 of us around two tables. More out of good fortune than anything else. Would recommend for small groups/couples or as take away.

Oh Pavel my love. You could be so perfect! I love this near-to paleo concept café. It has all the right ingredients– good menu of meaty solids like lamb, beef, pork and chicken. All basted and toasted to perfection. The salads and brown rice work lovingly to create a ménage a trois of jumbo proportions — and for good value too. This is a filling, satisfying place to eat. But… I think the service is at times, rude and abrupt(‘we don’t do half and half’) and the condiments don’t add any spice(the table salt and the lacklustre pepper sauce are adding zilch). What is needed is a friendlier cashier and a spicier set of accompanying sauces and herbs. The meat is great quality but a little bland for the sophisticated Aussie palate.

Ok so this was my first time here at Pavel & Co. I found it using the paypal app and Beat the Q. I never new this was here. And I work 200 mtrs down the road. I only got take away but after my first experience, I will definitely be back. Firstly, the décor. This place is seriously garage industrial cool. I love the look and feel of this place. Warm and inviting and makes me want to go inside even though i was outside. All the takeaway is served from the sidewalk. They even have heaters facing the street to keep you warm. There is an on site bakery and the smell is enticing! The coffee here was great. And the service was amazing. When I ordered through the paypal app I added a nite saying«have a nice day» and when I got my coffee back it came with a «have a nice day too» So I am scheduled to organise a lunch for a few people next week. Guess I just found the venue.

Good place for a panini or roast meat box. Have only been here twice and eaten the roast lamb box that comes with roasted veggies and brown rice. The other time I had the pork krakel panini which was similar to a banh mi but with roast pork and crackling. Place does get busy during lunch but most seem to take out. Will go back again to try their cheeseburger.

WHENIS A CHEESEBURGERNOT A CHEESEBURGER? I have been craving the perfect food now for the past week and haven’t been able to sate my insatiable hunger. I feel like Harold and Kumar in Harold and Kumar goto White Castle. They too wanted the perfect food and would not be satisfied until they got it. Mind you, I wasn’t under the influence of marijuana but that did not make my need any less. Ever since hearing about Pavel & Co and seeing a picture of their cheeseburger I haven’t been able concentrate. Due to training and work commitments I found myself having to wait until today(Friday) to try it. I was so excited I had to tell my boss about it and after he had seen the picture he was craving it too. We decided to wait until 1:30pm so we didn’t have to worry about the lunch time crowd and we were hoping it would stop raining, which it did. We made our way down the hill on Margaret Street towards Kent feeling my hunger wanting to take me over. As soon as we hit Kent Street the feeling got stronger as we saw people walking towards us with the little Pavel & Co containers, we knew we were on the right track, we are men after all. We didn’t need maps or directions, we just used our natural instincts which of course led us to our destination. We lined up inside knowing we wanted the cheeseburger(I was going to get the double). I let my boss order, as I decided I could let the anticipation build a little more. My boss ordered the cheeseburger and… They didn’t have any left. WTF? I asked, «you don’t have any left? Do they run out all the time»? Apparently they do, but how can that be? Would you not cater for enough people right down to the last day of the working week? Not willing to let my insatiable hunger make a monster out of me I quickly picked up the menu looking for a positive. Luckily there other amazing options on the menu. I decided on getting the Pork Krakel Panini as recommended by the lady behind the counter. The orders were made quickly and we made our way back up to the office. The Pork Krakel was an awesome combination of flavours and textures. The pork was a tender, juicy delight with a crunch and crackle to finish. The glaze was perfect and worked perfectly with the fennel and apple compote. The salad was made up of carrot, daikon, spanish onion, spring onions and parsley which gave it a fresh, slightly sweet crunch to cut through the richness of the pork adding layers of textures with the perfect panini and tender pork. Overall I will say I was disappointed. I really wanted that cheeseburger. I later found out my mate had beat me there and had order a double cheeseburger, and i’m thinking he was the cause of my dilemma. Either way I still went home hungry and unsatisfied at the end of the day, but i’ll be back next week to try my luck… I did eventually get that cheeseburger. That story is for another time.
