Went here as a group on a Saturday night to celebrate a post birthday! We had a reservation and upon arrival our table by the front window was ready. Their waiter was very approachable and helpful. Good service since then. Patiently waiting while were in wifi zone. They have the best cocktails in town(Fullbar inside)… We had some Margarita’s, Shrubbery, Life’s peachy and smoked Apple etc. It’s very refreshing and some were strong!!! Best to partner with finger foods Chips with parmason, sliders and truffle. Nice chilling music that makes a beautiful tripping sounds @ the same time with that hipster ambiance @ an average noise makes your night just right for a good time!

Fantastic place. Really fun vibe with mood-lifting electro-swing playing brightly in the background, friendly staff, and a very cool space. The bar is where it’s at — definitely sit here to interact with the friendly staff & watch the action behind the counter, OR snuggle in on the couch where it’s brighter. This place is great for groups, and has a DELECTABLE looking menu. Their cocktails are brilliant — the best I’ve had in ages, and although they’re slow to come out on busy nights, it’s 100% forgivable because they taste so good. A little pricey, but totally worth it. Definitely drop by if you’re in the area!

Traveling from Perth to Sydney, I was hanging out for top quality food. This place was not it. Would not recommend this place. Burger bun didn’t taste fresh. Spicy chicken winglets… Not spicy, no flavour.

What a cool spot! My partner and I discovered Rabbit Hole through Unilocal on a recent trip to Sydney. We happened to stumble in during happy hour(4−6pm), which was a nice little bonus. As an Adelaidean I was stoked to see Vale Ale as an option in the happy hour, and the Mr was equally pleased to get a $ 5 Peroni or two. It happened to be a Friday arvo right before Christmas and so the back section was closed for a function, but the front bar section was super cute. The spiral staircase added to the rabbit hole feel. The atmosphere was nice, post work drinks and whatnot. Also, we were seated between what seemed to be two Tinder dates, so that kept us amused. Next time I’m in Sydney I’m keen to try a cocktail or two at… after all, when down a rabbit hole, when someone offers a drink, you make like Alice and drink.

Went for lunch and the bartender seemed annoyed we were there. Disappointing since we were so excited to check this place out our last day in sydney. The drinks are over priced which would be fine if it was as cool to watch them be made as everyone posted it would be. Also the ladies restrooms was a disaster… sigh…really?

Doug Laming is an artist. I could tell he was at least part owner by the attention to detail he put in every drink. He made mixology in Los Angeles look like amateur hour. We came during happy hour, which basically consisted of $ 5 house wine(which was very good) and discounted beers. We were just going to have a drink and split, but then we noticed Doug doing some«Breaking Bad» sh*t behind the bar. We ordered The White Cloud above Mt Gay. It was delicious! They brought a couple complimentary Hand cut fat chips(maybe a Happy Hour thing). They too were amazing, so we got a full order of Hand cut fat chips with parmesan and white truffle and the«Rabbit Hole» wagyu beef burger on brioche with brie cheese and house made tomato relish(I am copying and pasting from the menu). THEN we got the Doug Laming’s Margarita, XO Zombie, and The Phoenix. One drink turned into an event because of Doug and his creations. I’m not usually one to spend ~$ 18 for a cocktail… I’m not even a mixology enthusiast, but these drinks are unlike anything I’ve ever seen or experienced. Do yourself a favor and try one and then see how far down the Rabbit Hole you go…

I stopped here while on vacation due to a crazy drink lost I read about. I sat at the bar and started from the top of the list. It was awesome to watch these guys put together all the components of the drinks and they all tastes amazing

If ever I have a newborn baby* and want to go out with my bestie who’s also just given birth, with a bunch of our friends, two pneumatic strollers and big clunky bags that take up half the bar space, I am sure I will choose Rabbit Hole Bar. Just like a party of about 15 did last night. I mean, who takes children, teeny tiny ones, to a dark little bar in the middle of the City? Is this the done thing in the Big Smoke? Or did I fall down the wrong rabbit hole last night? Once one of the bar staff handed me a Smoky Apple cocktail to shove in my gaping gob at the astonishment of the aforementioned patrons, I began to relax. It was good. Seriously good. Good enough to order another one. So I did. Happy to say I outlasted the babies. They went home after just one. Pffft. Amateurs. *apparently you have to have sex to produce a baby. Which makes this an highly unlikely scenario to include me in to. Sigh.

Great cocktails. Cool little setting. I am such a fan of bars that make the cocktail into art!

The burger is not as good as before. The wagyu beef had a funny taste and some part of it was not warm enough.

The Phoenix cocktail is a must try! Wagyu burger was super good as was the chocolate skull dessert. We are in from Chicago and will definitely return before heading home!

We were looking for a place to hole up in prior to a booking at Spice Temple and this is just up the road. Good service behind the bar and lovely cocktails — we went at a quiet time but I imagine it gets quite busy late at night. I’ll have to go back for their caviar Cointreau.

Decent. The cocktails are a bit too sweet for my taste, but the food is solid and the atmosphere is cool. The service leaves much to be desired.

A truly innovative bar experience, rather unassuming entrance. You need to look out for the rabbit signage on the street level and then walk down a flight if stairs and voila enter wonderland of cocktails. They specialise in everything liquid and live up to their claim. We have tried a whole gamut of cocktails here and each one wows u. The gin and tonic shots and the margarita with contrieu pearls is amazing. So is their smoked apple cocktail, fuzzy grandma(an awesome spin on the old rum n raisin ball), an so many others. We have been here twice already ! We loved the drama and theatre o drinks but always after dinner so can’t comment on the food. The service is friendly and they even create a cocktail to your specs if u ask them to. A little on the pricey side but it least it looks original and not $ 18 of fruit juice and vodka. Highly recommended !

Fabulous cocktails — love the margarita composed of tequila and Cointreau«pearls», and all the impressive champagne cocktails — delish! Great spot for a quiet after-work drink. The food here is divisive, with gels and whips and the like. But I really like it, especially the steak tartare and the double fried chips!

The Rabbit Hole is a garden-level bar and restaurant(fitting name, isn’t it?), with a modern French menu. The menu selection wasn’t quite what I was anticipating from this type of cuisine, but then I’ve only had it a few times, so what do I know? The restaurant is cute and cozy, and it makes for a good location for a low-key date night. Despite arriving around 7pm on a Saturday, it wasn’t that crowded. The food was ok. The chicken was good, but the potatoes that came with it left much to be desired. My boyfriend got the sirloin, but the dish was pretty small and he ended up sharing my meal.

I like this place, and the cocktail menu is pretty funky — the jelly cocktails interesting to say the least. However found it a bit ‘soul-less’ and very noisy and cold where we sat. It was pumping though — I was lucky to get in reasonably early on a Friday night and secure a spot. The anti pasti platter we had was good, as was all the food we ate. Share plates of chicken skewers etc. Worth a look.

The cocktails are sensational! Just reading the cocktail menu made me salivate… and the actual beverages lived up to expectation! Beautifully presented, textually stimulating and delicious! Try the Cointreau Caviar! The space has more of a «corporate» vibe than I was expecting(which makes sense given the location/clientele…) but this is balanced with a nice, clean, easy elegance that makes it a lovely little venue. Staff were helpful and friendly… and although I didn’t eat, the food looked gorgeous! I’ll be back to sample the food menu and to keep exploring the cocktails ASAP!

Food was ok, main was cold & its a little bit gimmicky with everything having carrots in the dish. Service was crappy. Long waits, and it wasnt even that busy. Then on a subsequent visit we had a voucher that had expired, which we didn’t know — and the owner responded extremely rudely, as if we were second class for buying a voucher in the first place. Clearly he has enough business and that he doesn’t need to attract more. Unfortunately the food and vibe wasn’t good enough to compensate for the rude owner.

Shhh… I’m going to let you in on a little secret… hidden beneath a busy city street, we found a rabbit hole and it’s serving up molecular cocktails and impressively presented plates of edible art… so hop this way and read on to find out more… Hidden in a basement off Elizabeth Street, you will find Rabbit Hole Bar and Dining, the brainchild of Doug Laming, who has been inspired from gastronomic journeys around the world and has returned to set up his very own Rabbit Hole in Oz. The concept is very simple. Forget bar hopping(pun intended). Rabbit Hole is your one stop shop — pre and post dinner drinks, dinner, dessert, or just a nibble — all without leaving the comfort of your cosy posie. The décor is warm and inviting if not slightly eccentric, with a unique artwork centerpiece featuring rabbit caricatures. There’s a front bar and a rear bar — in fact, it’s rather spacious down this rabbit hole. By their own claims, they specialise in all things liquid, but don’t expect your usual ‘run of the mill’ cocktail menu here. Chemistry rules in this establishment, with a unique take on cocktails — bringing us into the world of the molecular cocktail. Oh yes. Doug Laming has come up with a unique take on the humble cocktail, taking it to a whole new level in the form of alcoholic jellys, foams, flavoured sugars and caviar, yes, you heard right! Rabbit Hole is currently the only bar using the Cointreau Caviar Spherification, in fact there are only 12 of these in the world! Trust us, you need to try these bursting balls of cointreau goodness. The food menu, created by Executive Chef Tomoyuki Usui, previously of L’ Astrance(recently voted San Pellegrino’s 13th Best Restaurant of the World) is modern French. Prices are extremely reasonable, with entrees from $ 12-$ 16 and mains from $ 25-$ 30. Our journey commences with Jellied G&T shots. Out pops wobbly pieces of(Hendricks) gin & tonic jelly’s, sitting on a piece of cucumber with a dehydrated, sugar coated rose petal on top. Wow — the flavour when we popped these beauties into our mouths was incredible! The last jelly shot I had was bright red and served in a plastic shot glass! We start to get the feeling we’re in for something special. Next up pops Doug Lamings Magarita. Our first taste of the caviar! Wow — they literally burst in our mouth, not to mention spark interesting conversation about putting balls in our mouths! Oops… maybe I should have left that bit out…
We are officially converted. Next up we have the Texture Taster, a cocktail tasting plate with a Mini Caprioska Foam, Alcoholic Lemon Jelly and a Lava Lamp — OMG! Using a sugar coated mint leaf to scoop up the foam is out of this world! Meanwhile, our entrees arrive, along with a fruity Sauvignon Blanc and a delicate Pinot and it’s impossible not to notice the plates are beautifully presented. Both the Steak Tartare and the Scallops are amazing, but the Steak Tartare is a standout. We are then presented with the White Cloud above Mt Gay cocktail. It’s fresh and tangy liquid gold. Soon enough, our mains arrive, two plates of edible art, almost too good to eat. Almost. * Steamed John Dory, grilled eggplant, ginger & pear * Sous vide chicken breast, roast thigh, potato three ways & passion fruit Our desserts arrive, and we are not disappointed. The Strawberry Mousse in particular is amazing! * Strawberry mousse, compote, pink pepper & pistachio * Melon, crisp pancetta, cognac ice cream & botrytis gelee We finish our meals with The Babychino. A word of warning. This is an alcoholic take on the humble coffee, and not your usual baby drink! Wow — our journey is complete, and what a journey it has been! Doug has been a charming host, and his staff equally as friendly. We have loved our night at Rabbit Hole and will remember it for a long time to come. This is unlike anything I have experienced in Sydney, Australia or the world! So, as Molly Meldrum would say, ‘do yourself a favour’ and head down the Rabbit Hole sooner rather than later! This secret is about to get out!
