Great little café for all day breakfast, hidden gem in the suburbs. With indoor and outdoor seating, casual setting with friendly service. Organic and sustainable produce, jams home made, we had brunch as a walk-in party of four on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but we managed to get the last free table. Food was great, avo on sourdough toast with a side of poached egg, freshly squeezed juice, dukkah with poached egg and sourdough toast & asperges, and a mushroom dish. All were absolutely delish! Only downside was the coffee, I am used to a stronger variety. This one just didn’t give me the usual kick(bean variety possibly?). Also of note, the bathroom, although small, was very clean and tidy! We had a great time and it is definitely on the list of «go to» in the western suburbs! And you can buy a jar of their lovely jams!

Breakfast doesn’t get better than this. Perfect coffee matched with ‘Humpty Dumpty’ breakfast — apparently a new addition to their menu, the Humpty Dumpty is like soldiers and soft boiled eggs from your childhood, but soooo much better! Adobe is tucked away in suburban Taringa, and I would even have know it existed if it weren’t for Unilocal! It’s in a little group of shops that looks like it was a old Queenslanderish style house once upon a time. It has an adorable little courtyard out the front — perfect if your furry friends like to accompany you to breakfast. The menu is a little different than your average breakfast menu, but in the best possible way. All eggs, meat and dairy are ethically sourced, and things like their jams and chai are homemade. Absolutely perfect service. Friendly and efficient. And so so so well priced. Breakfast and coffee for two under $ 20 — love it!

Love it. Quiet street. Ambience. Great and interesting food and sweets. Expert coffee. Inside or outside. Great presentation. Doesn’t cost the earth. Reading material. Only issue, seemed to be in a mobile reception difficult area. Oh loved the crumble I picked. It was like having dessert at breakfast.

Great little local café with excellent coffee. Their small but gourmet selection of meals will keep you coming back for more. The positioning of the café adjacent to a corner store can be a bit had to find but that is just part of it’s charm.

Abode rocks — review done. I suppose I could go on about the smooth iced coffee, or the delicious sav mince on toast. Or the better than average value for money. I had every intention to take a photo of the savoury mince on toast to go with this review… however forgot all about it when the plate landed and it smelt so good and it was so tasty I had to eat it ALL before the missus asked if she could try some. Will be sneaking down to Abode for a selfish midweek solo brekkie. This place pulls a crowd and rightly so. Not to worry as there were no impatient snobs in sight. Very relaxed spot. Bravo Abode.

We were luckier enough to discover this gem on a Sunday for brunch. It was soon after that we were back, on the Wednesday, enjoying a midday meal. The quiet and serene location, of the back streets of Taringa, made for a relaxing and enjoyable time. The staff were extremely friendly and created a welcoming atmosphere for us, and even our four-legged friend. We will be back!

Ugh. Grocery day. The day when breakfast is slim pickings and on this particular morning I wasn’t having any of those slim pickings but instead toddled over to Abode Café and took delight in treating myself to breakfast amongst this cute suburban nook. The café itself is amongst the Hillsdon Road Centre of businesses and is at the back of the convenience store. There’s three or four small tables(ideal for parties of one or two) and a small communal table(maybe for 6) within the café and outdoor seating in the courtyard. On a sunny day, or even on the grey day today, it’s great to sit outside and soak up the leafy surrounds. The menu isn’t fussy. It takes up one A5 sheet of paper and I opted for the baked eggs but you might prefer the avocado on sourdough toast with their homemade almond butter or the savoury mince. My baked eggs are served with leek and capsicum jam and tarragon which, when baked, gives the eggs this wonderfully subtle taste of licorice/aniseed. I order one flat white and one ice latte during the course of my time waking up amongst the café with locals popping in and out for the mornings hits. What the most pleasant surprise of all is the total I paid for breakfast. $ 15.50 for baked eggs and two coffees. And this isn’t some slap-dash-side-of-the-road-truck-stop-inspired-big-breakfast. No, it’s thoughtful. It’s a quality production and I’m not sure I want to tell anyone about it for fear of it becoming too popular!

Best little black coffee stop in Taringapilly: an area long needing quality caffeine. Looking forward to seeing this develop. Love from a local.

This is a new Café in our local Taringa shops. And what a great little place it is. Located in the Courtyard area behind the Corner Store, you are able to enjoy the peaceful green setting with a nice aspect up to Mt Cootha. The coffee is terrific, Black Sheep beans and a skilled Barista means a really lovely espresso. And I so love the beautiful aubergine coloured cups! Abode is really really new and the plans are to serve food in 2014. At the moment freshly baked on site cakes and slices are served. And I seriously have to recommend the Sour Cream and Pear Cake — YUMMO! A range of made on site Jam’s and Relishes are available too. Can’t wait to see the food offerings in the New Year. So if you are keen to find a nice quiet spot, with quality espresso, great food and easy parking… then find your way down to Hillsdon Road and Goldsbrough Road. It’s a little hidden gem of a place. Currently trading every day 7am till 3pm.
