Master Chef, Wolfgang Kelke, uses traditional artisan baking techniques which include baking in stone ovens. He adds his own secret blend of spices to recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation that will entice your tastebuds and invigorate you soul.
History
Established in 1990.
Wolfgang Kelke Master Pastry Chef, is the King of Cakes. His passion for culinary excellence has seen him work in some of the world’s finest restaurants and cake shops, gaining a wealth of technical expertise which he combines with the use of traditional artisan baking methods.
These techniques include baking in stone ovens and using recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Wolfgang adds his own secret blend of spices, and authentic German and Bavarian cakes, pastries and breads come out of the ovens with aromas and tastes that invigorate your soul.
There are now three King of Cakes shops across Brisbane all using traditional techniques and recipes under Wolfgang’s direction. He proudly states he is an Australian but his heritage will always be German and those traditions and passions will continue to influence his product creations and culinary excellence for our enjoyment.

Business Owner
Wolfgang’s desire to create more than just cakes began when he was a child working in the family Café business in Munich. He went onto complete his baking apprenticeship with honours while working in one of Munich’s leading cake shops, Café Arzmiller.
He has worked with Feinkost Kafter and picked up work in London and Bermuda before returning home to take up a position as the Executive Pastry Chef for Movenpik in Munich.
His obsession to produce quality cakes of artistic perfection didn’t waver and so he took his career to the next level and went back to school in Munich. Over the next twelve months he completed his master certificate «Meisterbrief» with honours once again.
These qualifications and passion for perfection, opened many new doors and opportunities including scoring a position as the Head Pastry Chef for another leading bakery in Munich.
Finally comfortable with the achievements in his homeland, Wolfgang decided it was time to take his craft to the rest of the world.
