Had a lovely lunch. Walked in on a Friday. Table outside in the small garden area. Reasonable coffee, tasty food. I has the Lamb Kofta balls, Homas and Salad. lovely selection of cakes. I have previously had a high tea here and that was delicious and excellent value.

I found this place by chance after getting off the train at Victoria Park, to walk into the main café strip and down town. Great coffee stop ! Will have to revisit soon to try something off the neat menu.

A beautiful little home to come have a beverage and home made delicacies. Everything here seems to come out of the owners private kitchen and served on odd plates with unmatched cutlery. Its elegant and friendly. A great spot to bring a close friend or a family member who likes high tea and knitting. Coffee is decent and service is prompt. Ladies in the front are quite nice. There are two rooms in the back, and one in the front as well as a front garden thats well shaded. It can get a little hot there now that its 40 degrees every day but its so cute you wanna make the sacrifice. You can purchase pots and tea sets as well. Hopefully I’ll have time for brekkie here one day and update the review with more positive things to say, and a five star rating.

Brought my food buddy, mom to high tea at the Sassy Cookie. You must reserve a spot waaaaaaay in advance ie a few weeks in advance. I rate the Sassy Cookie fairly highly in comparison with some of Perth’s high tea joints. The menu was intriguing with a fairly consistent spread that satisfied. You must pay a deposit to secure a seat. I think i paid either $ 10 or 15 dollars per seat. I think I paid $ 39 each for my mom and I but call to check. Each diner gets one shortbread cookie with some icing, cut in the shape of a teapot, so cute. It was nice but I noticed that the cookies my mom and I got received were not the same(one was a little more golden than it should have been). The high tea was served not in one tier all at once, but brought out to each table at the same time. My mom and I agreed that while unusual we did prefer service this way as it made it easier for us to pace ourselves and to keep the food from going«cold» while waiting on the tier. Standouts were: 1. chicken pear and walnut/spinach and herb butter — so light and refreshing, yummy 2. red pepper, cashew, basil and artichoke ragout tart — creamy with a bite from the red pepper 3. both selections of scones and butter and conserve choices! not dense and heavy! 4. spicy apple pie and caramel honey macadamia ice cream Everything else was good but not great save for the macaron which failed to inspire. The serving waitress informed us that the menu varies slightly every few months but call to ask. The ambience is very cottage-style furnishing. It was a little noisy in the room with the chatter from the next door table although I’m not sure there’s much the business owners can do to reduce noise. Service was good considering there was only 1 lady serving the entire high tea crowd. It was a little slow and I was found wanting a refill more often than I would have like. I would definitely visit again in a few months when the menu changes.

What a cute little café! We stopped here for a late Saturday lunch while out for a stroll in the glorious sunshine and were pleasantly surprised at our find! I had their«baked eggs» which looked very cute and innocent. Looks can be deceiving — these eggs were the bomb! Expecting a basic kind of egg/spinach dish I was enthralled to find beneath the little egg was a myriad of delicious flavours including a gooey sweet chilli centre complemented with layers of tasty proscuitto. I cannot wait to drop by and have these delights again. For dessert we shared a couple of their considerable range of GF cupcakes — we chose the chocolate beetroot which was wonderfully rich, and the lemon ricotta a fluffy light contrast. The Sassy Cookie is a little gem of sweet treats, that’s hidden from the main café strip in Vic Park. Cakes and High Tea are their speciality and they also do a breakfast menu. The place is actually an old home converted into a café. A few small rooms that make up the space, are decorated in a theme of pastel green and white check tablecloths. Its pleasant, but I feel there are a few tweaks that need to be made here and there to really set off the high-tea mood. Comfortable chairs, warm lighting and some music wouldn’t go astray. Its not the best for ambience when you can hear the loud scrape of chair legs against wooden floorboards. I enjoyed a coffee and cupcake here one afternoon. The coffee was okay but the Banana Pecan Cupcake was delicious. It had that perfect real banana taste, generously peppered with crushed pecans. The icing was sugary sweet without drowning the flavours of the cake. In addition to cakes and bakes, they also sell a small selection of homemade gifts like cookie flower ‘bouquets’. Very cute.
