This is a great local spot of you want a fresh & quick meal. I ordered the chicken phở $ 11. A large serve that was a delicious & tasty selection. I’m going to get the fried rice next time which has been recommended here before. Be warned the servings are large so order conservatively. Or return to try more dishes at your next visit

I stumbled across this hidden gem when I was living in the area last year. I now travel back here for absolutely no fuss, delicious authentic Vietnamese food. I usually order Cha Gio — 6 hot, crispy spring rolls — $ 8.50 or the more healthy cold version — Goi Cuon. This is chicken and prawnmade in a rice paper roll. My favourite dish is the Bun Ga Nuong. Lemongrass grilled chicken served with vermicelli noodle and fresh mint, carrots, lettuce, shallots and roasted peanuts. Yum! This is only $ 11.00 — a bargain. All dishes are served with fresh tea. Nest time I come I want to try the Vietnamese pancake.

Fresh spring rolls. was ok. Beef phở. watery, bland and tepid. These guys have a pretty good rating on the various review sites — not sure why. The phở was especially a big disappointment given this is supposed to be their standout dish. It was only lukewarm and lacked flavour(more water than stock). Next time, I’ll drive a little further and head to Marrickville.

This is a hidden treasure in Waterloo/Redfern. If you are looking for a quick no fuss vietnamese restaurant then this is IT. It is family run and don’t be fooled by its exterior. Inside it is clean and food while may take time is always good and fresh. The portions are generous and have never been disappointed which what we ordered. The shredded pork rice paper roll is made to order and quite substantial. The beef phở is always a winner and filling. Best eaten with the herbs provided. Their BanXeoh is another winner with huge prawns and mince between the crispy crepes. Been to a few other places where u have to struggle to look for the prawns. More akin to looking for buried treasure rather than a nice meal out… Another entrée which I really found interesting is the dry braised squid with lemongrass and chilli. It really goes well with beer as it is crispy and tasty with the highlights of lemongrass with each bite. For $ 16, it is good value for money.

Top notch Vietnamese joint just a couple of minutes down the road from Redfern station. Has an authentic feel, which is partly to do with the great food, and partly to do with the slightly underwhelming décor more seen in Vietnam than downtown Sydney. Had the phở, which at $ 10 is amazing value. Served with a significant side of fresh chillis and your standard fare of fresh green produce. BYO booze is also a significant plus.
