As you walk through the coloured streamers in the door of What A Treat it is like you are transported into a magical time travel vortex. Make your way inside and notice the attention to detail this café and vintage shop has put into helping you feel like you’re sitting in a 1960s café. The old wireless plays in the background and you can pick between sitting down at lino tables and chairs or on the brown couch with crocheted cushions. The menu is written up on the blackboard and changes every week based on what Tash can source seasonally. A small menu with a focus on simple, healthy meals means you know you are going to leave feeling good about yourself. I love the unique salads and soups of the day they make up fresh each day topped off with a cheeky gluten free brownie(that isn’t as naughty as you would think). Meanwhile, my highlight of dining here has to be the vintage store behind the café and Tash’s Mum’s vintage clothing store next door. The prices a ridiculously good for vintage and you can find some really unique items in here that you wouldn’t see in many other shops around town(including a few bits and bobs of home wares). Julie(Tash’s mum) has the most amazing range of furs that I have ever seen too at high quality and very reasonable prices. I know that’s a bit controversial but I figure it is better than going to waste in a bin somewhere! Pop on in and the ladies will make you feel right at home in their retro revival café.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle an bustle of the city and love walking into a time warp well, look no further. So many healthy options in this wonderful Adelaide café. I really enjoyed having a cup of tea and trolling though all the vintage gems throughout the café. Apparently weekends are the best time to come to What A Treat as they do seriously cool breakfasts. I will make sure I add that to my list.
