Hong Lee Meats

This butchery has only been in existence 6 weeks, so it all looks a little sparse in there, but the staff are so friendly that I’m inclined to keep supporting them.
When I went in, it was late on a Sunday afternoon and everything in the cabinet was cling-​wrapped, perhaps ready for closing. There wasn’t a huge range of meat on offer, but I found what I was looking for, some nice-​looking pork chops for $ 8.50/kg and a big piece of lean beef at $ 9.95/kg. They also had chicken breast on special for $ 6.50/kg, probably the cheapest I’ve ever seen. I prefer to buy free-​range chicken, however, and they didn’t seem to have any on offer. They also had some sausages and some mince, but again, there weren’t huge amounts on display.
I did also notice a couple of upright fridges containing what looked like whole chickens WITH feet still on! So Hong Lee obviously also stocks some of the more Asian meat delicacies.
Hong Lee doesn’t quite compare to my regular butcher in West End, Meat Your Lifestyle, but they were so friendly (and gave me a discount!) that I’ll keep going back. Hopefully, with time, they’ll expand their range of meats and maybe add some free-​range chicken too.
