The coffee here is excellent, and the coffee roaster vibe of the whole place adds significantly to the charm of this place. There is a relaxed and airy feel to the café, that makes the relaxing afternoon coffee just that much better. The staff are lovely, prices are very reasonable for the quality of the coffee. I would definitely recommend this place to people looking for s coffee and a quick bite in west end.

This coffee shop is awesome. Everyone who works here is extremely nice and friendly, the prices are considerably lower than other places($ 3 small/$ 4 large) and the best part is customers don’t pay for extra shots of espresso or soy milk. Which makes my small quad shot soy latte $ 3 just like the rest of them. They also roast their own coffee filling the entire neighbourhood with toasty aromas, and have a huge selection of beans to choose from to take home.

The Coffee Roaster was unknown to me until it was suggested I meet there for a meeting earlier this week. What a pleasant surprise. This is a roaster primarily — there’s an option to blend and roast your own coffee. I didn’t notice a food menu other than the few muffins and cakes on display. I arrived during their ‘Heads or Tails’ happy hour where if you select the correct heads or tails your coffee is free. It must have been my lucky day as I scored my flat white gratis for correctly selecting ‘heads’. It was quite a good coffee and I would have happily paid for it. I took my seat outside and was left to my own devices. I sense that it’s definitely a spot that you can sit and watch the world go by.

If you find yourself on Montague Road in West End in need of freshly roasted coffee beans, then follow the earthy scent of coffee toward The Coffee Roaster. As you’d expect, they specialise in roasting coffee, and they roast to order, meaning that you score yourself and warm, freshly roasted bag of heaven. They use a Chinook air flow roaster which ensures that every bean is evenly roasted, providing you with perfectly-baked beans. You can choose to create your own blend of beans from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Sumatra, Kenya or Papua New Guinea. The Coffee Roaster also provides take-away and drink-in coffees from beans they roast on site. You can choose the type of bean and they also serve up iced coffees. Despite the industrial feel of the place, they have large homely sofas inside and a small garden area to bask in the morning sun.
