Gloria Jean’s Coffees

I haven’t been to all the different Gloria Jean’s stores in Adelaide, but out of the few I have been to, West Lakes would have to be my favourite.
It is conveniently located at one end of the mall away from any other coffee and/​or food stores and has access to outside tables. This also allows the store to open during hours when the rest of the mall is closed which helps them create more business for themselves. This is particularly a great idea for when it’s footy season as it tends to get quite hectic at West Lakes during that time of year.
The atmosphere in Gloria Jeans is what it should be for a coffee shop. I hate walking around the city only to find overly busy coffee stores with people running towards the exit the minute they receive their order. I’m a total cliché: I love going out for coffee with my friends. Although I don’t drink coffee. I drink tea. But that’s besides the point. I used to drink coffee. A lot. I even went through a phase when I tried every drink on the menu at Gloria Jeans. It wasn’t a proud moment in my life.
Let’s get back to the point. The coffee isn’t great but it has it’s moments. The staff are lovely, the booths are comfortable and it’s easy to find a place to relax with a hot cup of coffee/​tea or a cold icy beverage and enjoy the newspaper or your current reading material.
My favourite drink on the menu? Of course it’s a sugary drink that you know you shouldn’t be having. Also known as: The Tim Tam Iced Chocolate Chiller. Mmm delicious and oh so fattening. They also make a pretty decent Iced Tea.
