Don’t mistake this café as just a pit stop for coffee on your morning route to work — it is so much more! I came here to catch up with friends and was surprised by the abundant menu options and delicious smoothies. And for the reasonable price and added fast service, I will definitely be visiting Krave on the regular.

Mum and I came here before going shopping. The line to order was long, I grabbed a table and sat waiting for about 10 minutes while mum ordered. Then we waited. And waited some more. We had ordered 2 cappuccinos. When they eventually arrived(turns out the number mum was given was wrong) the Campos coffee was alright, but nothing special. Maybe it was just a really busy Saturday. Who knows. But I won’t be bothering to wait next time!

Coffee lover here on the hunt… While this is one of my locals, it doesn’t have that charm, that inviting nature that most of my fab cafes bounce with. Staff are friendly, service is quick… Soy flat white? Well… They’re still working on it…

One of my favorite places to go for a take-away coffee or a casual lunch. Its an odd location, being in the Windsor homezone, but surprisingly lovely setting inside. The service is always very friendly, and the iced mocha or coffees are a must — the perfect mix of blended ice, ice-cream, coffee & chocolate. They have Zymil too, which I was impressed with. The toasted blue-berry banana bread is also a favourite of mine. The place can get pretty busy over lunch and around after-school pick-up, but since they opened they seem to have sorted out their kitchen a bit and are relatively timely with food delivery. Don’t be in a huge rush though as their new POS system seems to have slowed down the counter ordering a lot — and the kitchen can still take a little while over the busy periods. Coffees are usually super-quick even during peak periods so great for a quick takeaway.

My years of working for Maccas made me a bit of a tough critic when it comes to going to other restaurants. Yeah, I know. I only worked at McDonalds but I like to think that I worked there when you did a good job because you were terrified to do otherwise. As it turned out, the importance of great, friendly service has stayed with me and ultimately helped me get better and more rewarding jobs since. It’s with this said, I am torn. It can be those little moments that make or break your experience. What has really stuck in my craw has been that when I have approached the counter for service, all 3 times I have been met with no one to serve me. Not really an issue for me, but it was the second time it occurred, the chef for whatever reason walked out onto counter and looked at us but didn’t make eye contact or acknowledge us customers and just turned around and called out«SERVICE». From a customer service point of view… that was rubbish. All he had to do was say«Hi how are you? I’ll just have someone come out to look after you» or something along those lines. As a newbie to the establishment, I didn’t know that he is the chef(I found out he was the chef upon asking when our meals where brought out), so to be met with that — it wasn’t nice. The young lady who brought out our meals was great but it made the previous lack of effort all the more obvious. The 3rd time we visited it was better although the guy making our coffee wasn’t exactly pleasant. Ultimately, they serve excellent coffee(Campos. drool) and their big breakfast is AWESOME. It’s just a shame that the service is a bit erratic. Mostly from the guys working there now that I think of it. Something to work on I guess. I want to give them 5 stars but the service side of things has bothered me.

After a tough afternoon of home wares, grocery and appliance shopping; a strong cup of coffee was in order. So I was delighted to find Kafe Krave parked bang smack in the middle of the Windsor Homezone shopping precinct. The coffees here are beautifully strong and full-bodied, as you would expect from the beans they use — Campos Coffee. Caffeine aside, they also serve up a delicious array of food — everything from a simple salad focaccia, a croque monsieur to cute, in-house baked cupcakes, lemon tarts and assortment of sugary sweet delights. I began to get a small dose of food envy as I watched the table next to me receive a beautifully constructed burger — free from dripping sauce and small enough to actually be completely consumed. So if you happen to be in the area around lunch time — definitely stop by for a refuel.

This little corner of Windsor’s Homezone complex seems to change hands often these days. It’s always occupied by a café, but the name on the door has been changed three times in the past year or two. Nevertheless, it’s a nice spot. The inside is an air-conditioned shelter from the complex’s hot expanse, and the décor is modern, unassuming, and relaxing. Kafe Krave seems to offer both table or counter service, depending on what you want to do. You see a lot of people placing takeaway coffee orders at the counter and selecting a piece of cake or a salad from the cabinet, but there are also people who opt to settle in at a table and wait to be brought a menu. I found the staff to be very nice and helpful, and my pot of tea was brought promptly(I hate when restaurants let it set at the service counter until it’s brewed to the point of bitterness) and with a smile. My companion enjoyed her coffee and said her piece of cake was very satisfactory. Even though Kafe Krave is the latest in a string of cafes in this spot, I hope they last because they definitely deserve to.
