I have walked past Lord Of The Fries so many times over the years and never eaten there. Recovering for a terrible Grand Final hangover on a recent trip to Melbourne I decided the only cure for my hangover was a greasy burger! Enter Lord Of The Fries, unbeknown to me Lord Of The Fries serve vegetarian, kosher, halal burgers — their fries are free from the stock standard chemicals that normal fries contain. On this day I ordered the Original and serve of Sweet Potato Fries, I sat down and then it dawned on my that this was a no meat diner, I then waited with anticipation for my burger and fries to arrive. The result was an extremely tasty burger and fries, to be honest had I not have realised that it was a vegetarian restaurant I probably wouldn’t have noticed, the burger was full of flavour and came with some pretty tasty mustard and pickles. I hear Lord Of The Fries is opening in Perth sometime in the near future, and I am looking forward to trialing it out on some of my vegetarian and meat eating friends alike.

Lord of the Fries are just great. I really like this company and they way they portray there product. 100% vegetarian with vegan options. Burgers, Hot dogs, Chips, ANDANDANDONIONRINGS, the BEST Onion Rings Its great. Reallly tasty. I attended this LOTF for the first time for a VIP Unilocal tasting event for their new menu. After leaving, without a lie, i was rolling down the street home, with my belly full of amazingness. This was a great event as I got to showcase all the new products and some of the classics and review them. So this gave me an excuse to eat alllllllll the food. And that I did. The chips are great, and then to beat that they have sweet potato chips, so good. and then on top of that they have chilli fries. Just great stuff. I attend LOTF regularly, weather it be a drunken night food, just a little chip snack to get you through the day. I cant get passed the amazingness of the Onion Rings, really thick, tasty and amazing.

I’d never tried lord of the fries before. I’ve walked past their stores heaps of times but never gone it. My friends have though and they said they liked it. We went there last night for a VIP tasting event. This is by far their biggest and most accommodating store in terms of seating space so it’s very convenient if you’re hanging out with mates as you can grab a seat and eat in. I also like the layout, with a mix of couch/table and low tables/chairs. On the menu, we had about 4 types of fries and they were all very nice especially with your preferred matching sauce. The chunky fries works well with the Belgian and London sauce I found while the sweet potato, dipped in the Belgian sauce, is pretty good. An upcoming addition to the menu ‘The Shanghai Sauce’ I think? has a good blend of flavours but I found it to be too runny. The chilli dog was good and reminded me a bit of the one I had in LA at Carney’s. Out of the burgers, the tropical Parma burger(minus pineapple for me) was one of the best I had on the night. Another upcoming addition ‘Rekha’s burger’ was quite nice. One of the things that separates lord of the fries I guess from other burger joints is their broader vegan options. Their sauces are also pretty good and they have quite a few of them so that keeps things interesting. It might not become your preferred place to grab this abso-freaking-lutely amazing thing that we call a burger but it’s they definitely deserve a look-in ah least.

A great alternative to a kebab after a long night out! I personally like the Canadian flavoured fries which come with cheese and bacon. Yummy! Don’t be fooled. Them burgers have no meat in them!

How convenient that all of these shops seem to be located in the late night reveler’s drunken hot-spots of Melbourne. Okay, so this one isn’t technically on Chapel street, but it’s in essentially the same vicinity. It’s better than most, although still part of a chain of stores with the same recipe as each other, but you do get to sit down here, and the store is nicely decked out. The chips are okay, but usually have a weird texture half way between soggy and moist and crispy-crunchy. By far the most popular, well listening in line anyway, is the French-Canadian. There was about 4 orders in a row for this sauce. Not super interested in other sauces on my fries, as they tend to ruin the experience of the fries themselves so the stock standard fries is usually a winner. The hot dogs ain’t half bad. But a far better choice than a lot of the very unhealthy gunk food options out there that tempt one late at night when drunk.

VEGOBURGER, HOTDOGS, FRIES! O.M.G — why am I not there eating these right now??? Oh, coz I’m in Perth and we don’t have a Lord of the Fries — BOO!!! Lord of the Fries is fantastic! I love the whole concept… you can get regular size burgers and hotdogs… and if you want to try one of each you can get a mini version… the fries are just ridiculously amazing… I had the french canadian. which is fries with cheese and gravy… a mouth watering combination… Go there! you’ll LOVE it!

Lord of the Fries has become a little bit of a cult-hit in Melbourne where people are raving about their fries. Seems very American but after a reasonably large night out I passed the Chapel St store and gave it a go. Thoroughly impressed! It actually really hit the spot and even though I knew I was going to regret the fact I got a large chips with a hot dog, at the time it was bliss. That’s always the way I suppose with hang over meals. However they did make a mean chip. Apparently it’s all about their International Sauces, which I’m yet to try. I’m going to take a punt and say I will probably be back there soon.
