had a pastrami sandwich/reuben here which was okay tasting, but you can’t help knocking a star off for heating up the pastrami meat in a microwave in plain sight. it’s a disappointingly lazy shortcut to take in the restaurant business…

Terrible service. We ordered a sandwich. Owner arrived with a mozarella instead. When we told him this wasn’t what we ordered. He told us it was this mozarella or no food at all and he turned around. No service whatsoever. Worst way to treat a customer i’ve ever experienced.

Caffé Internazionale has been here since 2005 and you can tell by how many regulars walk in when you sit there for a couple of hours. You don’t have to wonder that this place has been on my to-do-list since the day I started Unilocaling. When you walk in this very cosy and nice place in the new and upcoming Volkstraat. The vintage interior gives it a familiar feeling and the coffees are the greatest. I won’t exaggerate but I guess they have the BEST Masala Latté I EVER had. Don’t ask my how they do it, but they do it well. Service can be a bit slow though but on a Sunday this is easily forgotten. The kitchen is inside the restaurant and the chef, who is also the owner, has this special kind of «Joie-de-vivre» hanging around which makes it fun to look at him doing the magic.

Coffee, pastrami, interior design and a wonderful service: what’s not to love? Caffè Internazionale in the very happening Zuid(South District) has it all. Make sure to order a Heart Attack(especially if you’re hung over). This sandwich with pastrami, eggs, bacon and mayonnaise will probably make you fat and lazy, but really happy too. You can also buy great blends of coffee beans with an always changing selection.
