For an «OK» burger, quick snack. Burger places have been popping-up in Antwerp, some are better then others and go the extra mile yet Ellis«Gourmet» burger disappointed in the«gourmet» section and rather stays medium. Yet fun to hang out with some friends and placed in a trendy new part of town. Sadly to say, yet have had some over-backed burgers here…

Located across from the Mas, it’s convenient after viewing the museum. I also give them credit for the advertising slogan on their awning that you see from the observation deck of the Mas. The outdoor seating overlooks the water and the Mas. Indoors is very nice and upscale. The prices are on the high side, and they charge extra for things like fries. I had the special burger with bacon, and it was outstanding. If you are in the area, it’s a good choice.

Love this place. Open late during weekends, fast service and very good hamburgers and side dishes. I find it a bit disappointing that they don’t accept reservations. All waiters are friendly except for that Dutch girl that usually throws the plates on the table but that won’t stop me from going there.

An excellent burger place for this side of the Atlantic. Had the Meatlover, top beef and cooked rare like I asked. Belgian fries with excellent pepper mayonaise and a tasty coleslaw. Did I mention the very friendly service? I’ll be back.

A good home away from home stop for all Americans who miss home! Cute compelling story. Good burgers with Belgian fries! Try the veggie or fish burgers if meat is not your thing. Attractive hip location on the water. Pretty view of the Mass museum.

Overly expensive, not that good. I had the beeflovers which is their premium beef from a special butcher. Was pretty good burger but € 13 without any sides at all. Mrs. S had the Louis Chef Special which was a bizarre tasting patty on toast. Mrs. S described it as a «strange tasting meat, not cow or at least not all cow». I had a bite. Really didn’t much taste like 100% beef. Sides here cost extra. € 3.50 for all sides including cole slaw which is pretty price for cabbage. Anyway, standard order of fries is quite big and the fries were indeed tasty. Anyway, two burgers, one order of fries and three beeers was € 37. Pretty pricey and, as mentioned, one burger was really weird tasting.

Second time eating here. The food is so-so in my opinion, but I may be bias since I’m an American from California. I had the guaco-waco this time. It was okay but you really couldn’t taste the guacamole, so it was kind of disappointing since i’m a huge lover of guac/avocados… We sat on the terrace with my small dog and asked if they could provide us with a small bowl of water for the dog, but the waiter said no. –___– So anyone who’s taking a stroll with your dog and want to grab a bite, don’t stop at Ellis Burgers, because you’re dog will be very very thirsty.(p.s. the servers like to clear your plates really fast, sometimes too fast, even before you’re done eating!)

I want to rate this place 3* because of the pricing(compared to US pricing), but since this isn’t that ridiculous expensive for Belgium, I can’t. I had the trio of sliders and they were really good, so I can’t complain too much. But this was like twice or three times the price that I’d pay for a similar quality burger in the US. Good stuff, but I probably won’t splurge next time I’m in town.

Driving through Antwerp, we decided to stop at this burger place more for convenience(I really needed to use the bathroom and was sick of paying for them) than any other reason. Staff spoke english and was nice and able to explain everything on the menu. Very interesting selection of burgers with a gourmet flare. I have to admit upscale burgers are getting on my nerves in America. However, this place seemed to offer various amounts of burgers without it seeming pretentious. Lamburgers were amazing and the mayonnaise for the fries were great, with an added flavor. Surprised at how good it was and the iced tea was amazing with different fruits cut into the drink. I believe the pictures of the drinks on here are the iced tea. I would definitely recommend to anybody lucky enough to be in Antwerp.

Even though the place was packed on a Saturday evening, the staff has been really flexible and managed to find us some space in less than 15 mins. I took their Foie-Gras burger which was a bit disappointing as lacking of greens. But I would recommend the mini-burger trio which allows you to try their savoury options of home-made burgers.
