Pick this restaurant on the spur of the moment as closing time was approaching. Though they were busy and quite crowded, they found us a nice table. Our waiter was friendly and quickly delivered water and tapenade with toasted bread. Then came the food several fixed price offering were available. One colleague picked the less expensive one and had the fish soup, salmon and a chocolate mousse dessert. Another colleague had a fillet of sole, his favorite dish in Brussels. I had the more expensive fixed price meal which came with lobster soup filled with large chunks of lobster and finished with Armagnac. Next came a ½ a lobster in a creamy stew. With a side of interesting mashed potatoes flavored with olive oil and I believe nutmeg. They complimented the rich stew. Dessert was a gingerbread charlotte with a scoop of ice cream. A nice bottle wine. We all enjoyed dinner and will return on our next visit to Brussels.

The Rugbyman lobster in champagne truffle sauce was divine. Great food, dinner in the outside tented patio was also lovely. Highly recommended and a great and fortunate stop.

High marks for location and the service was friendly but the food just disappointed. My wife and I ordered the fixed price menu for fish(24 euro) — fish soup, sea bass and chocolate moose. The food just didn’t match the expectation or price.

Restaurant sympathique de tradition pour les amateurs de homards. Vous vous y retrouverez ! La cuisine est délicieuse et l’accueil sympathique. N’hésitez pas à réserver à l’avance le restaurant est souvent complet, et privilégiez les places à l’étage pour éviter les désagréments des nombreux passages et courants d’air au rez-de-chaussée. Possibilité de commander deux moitiés de homards cuisinés de façons différentes. On y retournera !

SERVICE– FOOD-ATMOSPHERE!!! It was in Europe for my moms birthday and we have stopped in Brussels for night. The concierge at our hotel said to go to Rugby Man #2, not #1… So, we listened… what a great overall experience! 1. The two gentlemen that helped us made our day. I know its not customary to over-tip in Belgium… but we did. They were attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. One was even speaking Spanish with my grandmother. Really lovely! 2. We each for the Pre-fix menu and did a lil swapping. So we got to taste… everything, The crab soup was smooth and creamy, the lobster was fresh… YUMMO! 3. We were seated outside in the random heated patio. Really cozy out there with the heating lamps and they even brought blankets. We felt FANCY! Thanks again for treating me and my family so great. I would def come back again next time we are in Brussels!

Dîner d’affaires avec 7 Japonais(je bosse pour une boîte Japonaise), je leur ai fait découvrir en entrée, croquettes de crevettes, moules de Zélande(qui en fait venaient du Danemark car celles de Zélande avaient du retard) et huîtres…ils ont adoré! En plat principal forcément c’est le sacro-saint endroit du homard… mais le «plus»(en fait je né sais pas si cela se fait ailleurs ou non) est qu’il est possible de choisir chaque moitié d’une façon(cuisinée) différente… Par exemple, j’ai pris une moitié «homard grillé nature avec beurre et ail» et l’autre«homard avec sauce au whisky, crème et tomate»…un pur délice! Terrasse en bord de quai(des briques) très sympa… le temps hier était superbe, une chance! Ok, le prix est assez élevé(812 € pour 8), entrée, plat, dessert et vin… mais dans la norme. Service très correct et sympathique… Je recommande le homard sauce au whisky, cette sauce est une tuerie!

Un bon restaurant de poissons, pas donné mais à tester ! En été, la petite terrasse donnant sur le ‘canal’ est agréable. Assez bon service, qui se veut chic(mais n’y arrive pas toujours). J’ai testé le menu à 33 euros(entrée de poissons, homard et dessert), c’était vraiment excellent ! Testez le homard ‘rugbyman’(si je me rappelle bien du nom), qui est bien meilleur que l’autre préparation proposée. Dessert un peu moins bon que l’entrée et le plat, mais comme l’on en sort rassasié et les papilles gustatives conquises, ce n’est pas si grave. Parfait pour un petit dîner romantique ou pour impressionner belle-maman

The place is a bit overpriced for what it was. For about 21 or 22 euros you get a large bucket of mussels plus fries. The mussels were ok, one of my pots they were overcooked. The fries were average at best. A decent meal.

The only authentic left-over here must be the owner. The rest is also tasteless, uninspired, unprofessional and badly overprized. This place became a disgrace for the belgian culinary standard. Quality seekers and food lovers avoid this place. Maybe try it out just once, waste some precious money to find out what I mean. Luckily we have much better places in the city center. Be inventive, creative and leave the beaten track. You might discover some hidden gems.
