A lovely brunch spot on a quiet street in Ghent. From the outside it doesn’t look much but it is such a light, spacious and quirky room with large rustic wooden tables. Brunch is served until 12pm every day so when we rocked up at 5 to 12 I dashed to a seat to make sure I got given their brunch menu! There are no hot meals but your standard Belgian brunch offering — boiled eggs, bread, jams, pastries, granola and cheese & cold meat. I say standard but what these guys serve is definitely above par! I had a lovely homemade granola with yoghurt and jam and my bf had a pastry. We also ordered some of their organic bread(massive basket full) and speculoos pasta to share. Speculoos are those spiced biscuits… Well they’ve made that in to a spread! It’s amazing! We ate half a jar. The coffee was ok but nothing great but the juice they serve is freshly squeezed and lovely! They also have one room so are technically a b&b. The room looked beautiful annnnd breakfast is included so a definite consideration when I next visit Ghent. Unable to comment on lunch but I know they serve it!

Couldn’t think of a better name than«Le Jardin Bohémien» for this cosy brunch place(The Bohemian Garden). The garden feeling comes from the wooden furniture, the numerous plants here and there, the cute little spots with armchairs. Why bohemian? the relaxed and chilled vibe, the long communal table, the kindness of the service. We had brunch there: I really liked the different brunch formulas that they have! there’s the french one for small appetites(basically just a croissant and a coffee) and it builts up to the really big ones with bread, cheese, veggies spread, eggs, etc. Mainly savoury things though, not a lot of sweet except for bread and jam. Overall nice place, nice food, I can totally recommend!

Ok is the right summary. The place is nice and cosy, the set-up is well done so you don’t feel one on each others… We were 4 adults and 2 kids and the waiters were really tolerant with the kids(who at some point took over an additional table!) so it’s always relaxing… I was just a bit disappointed by the food, i found it very simple and not great actually… it’s missing something to make the difference for this price. We had the«jardin» menu… It got quite full around 12am on Sunday… They do take reservation. They don’t accept credit cards(come on ! it’s 2015 !)
