Quick service and good drinks. Waiter was prompt and very kind. Payed a bit more for the experience here since the patio is right on the canal in the center of the city. Have a small selection of food as well, but again, at higher prices. Coffee was good, and the crackers that accompanied my beer here were of a higher quality than I’ve received in other bars in Ghent, so that was a small plus.

Visited for lunch in the summer period — was surprised by the high quality of the food and good service. Very high value for the money.

Bien situé le long du canal. Une carte restreinte mais originale. Des prix dans la moyenne du quartier.

We went here for a very late lunch(or early dinner), around 5PM. I suppose the aubergine parmigiano they were advertising on a clapboard outside enticed us. There were more seating outside than inside, but since the weather was rather cold, we decided to sit inside, in one of the 3 tables available. We ordered the aubergine parmigiano, the brie on bread, and coffee and tea. It arrived after a reasonable delay, just enough to make ourselves comfortable and sit down, warm our hands on the candles on the tables. Both entrees came with a very amazing salad. There were greens that I didn’t recognize, but aside from the greens, there were also raisins, pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, and roasted tomatoes. The dressing was heavenly, heavenly enough that I was able to finish it. And both entrees were amazing too. I loved the melted brie on bread with walnuts and honey, as well as the very tastefully-done aubergine parmigiano. I am amazed that a café such as this, which is located on prime real estate(it is at the front of the Graslei, which is pretty much Gent’s front yard) is not a tourist trap. It served good food, with decent prices. I’d pay a visit to this place again if I were in Gent again.
