Husband and I were in BC for our honeymoon and wanted to have dinner outside of Vancouver on our way back to Lake Shuswap. We found this place on Unilocal and LOVED it. We ordered the seafood platter for 2 and it had Lobster, Dungeness crab, mussles, clams, halibut, and salmon. All served on a beautiful bed of rice. HOLYMOLY. The lobster was so good. Our waitress was Stacy and we told her we were celebrating our honeymoon. She was SO sweet and kind and made us feel so special. She walked us through the menu and then offered us a free dessert of our choice because we were celebrating! She was so personable and sweet. She made us feel so special celebrating. We are so grateful. Thank you for the incredible food and service. You made our honeymoon so special!

Recently tried out the Bow and Stern for the first time and was beyond impressed. First of all, the place is beautifully decorated, and a really enjoyable sight. Secondly, the food! I went with 3 friends and we each ordered something different and all of us were happy! Great food and great service. Will definitely be making a return visit(even though it’s an hour drive!).

Wow! Excellent service, a nice range of seafood options and some meats, interesting and delicious veggies. Food is super good: thoughtfully prepared and reasonably priced. Love the décor. Highly recommended!

A great gem in Abbotsford! Great décor and atmosphere. I have travelled a lot and tried many restaurants in different cities. Bow and Stern offers a fresh and delicious menu for those who visit and reminds me of a restaurant in NYC! So happy that they are doing well! The waitress told us that 99% of the food is made in house and I can definitely taste it. The Baja tacos and cod burger we had were fresh, light and delicious!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Make sure to book a reservation on the weekends! A definite must try in Abbotsford. Specializing in seafood, they also have many other great features and their menu seems to change regularly. Their Beer menu is well stocked, though their mixed drink menu is rather short. Still a big recommend from me. You won’t be disappointed!(Try the oysters!!)

Enjoyed a nice Sunday night dinner which is a much calmer time to go then Friday night(no surprise) Had a great meal with friends, the prawns were especially juicy and tasted great. The server was nice and answered all of our questions with patience ;) There is a small but balanced selection of quality beer on tap, and a great selection of craft beer in bottles. Atmosphere is great, and I’ll definitely be going again!

After reading the many positive reviews, I decided to give Bow & Stern a try. My wife and I arrived just before noon. We were alone! The friendly staff seated us and we spent a few minutes looking at the extensive food offerings. Impressive! By the time we ordered the Crab Salad and Chicken Caesar, six more couples has come in for lunch. The food arrived and was entirely up to expectations and consistent with the reviews. It was perfect. A mound of crab on fresh greens accompanied by a huge prawn and some fresh asparagus. The Chicken Caesar was just that. Nothing special but very good. By the time we were ready for the check, 3 more couples had wandered in. It good to see a good restaurant being patronized. The atmosphere, service and food was 5 star for sure and the cost very reasonable. The restaurant was a tad chilly though and we had to dine with our coats on. The server said that she’d mention this to the manager. It’s nice to have another quality dining option joining Restaurant 62 and Brambles Bistro in Abbotsford. We’ll try their evening menu next time and hopefully they’ll have turned up the thermostat a few degrees!

Great find in Abbotsford. I would not have expected to find an Oyster bar in this city. Fun décor and friendly service. I will definitely return.

First time visit. Went for lunch on my birthday. Nice place… my friend said it reminded her of Pinterest. Service was attentive but a bit stiff. Menu has a great selection of seafood. I had the Oyster and Chips… delicious… huge deep fried oysters… Yum! Hubby had the salmon burger… friend had cod and chips. All very good and decent portions. Great craft beer list too. A great place for lunch or dinner…

Came for the happy hour(2−5pm) special. Beer, burger, fries — $ 15. I failed to take a photo of the massive burger on a soft bun with clearly homemade patty and generous condiments. The sleeve of local craft beer — not mass market swill — was cold and perfect(Fat Tug IPA). But the part that tells you all you need to know about this gem of a spot — the PERFECT fries. Golden, hot, not oily, crispy on the outside, buttery soft on the inside. I had ½ of them without any ketchup; they were that good. I will be a repeat customer. Well done Bow & Stern.
Very nice clean restaurant. The fish and chips were very good and the clam chowder was light and very tasty. Staff was pleasant and friendly. 1st time here and we will for sure come back.

Good oysters. They do limit their selection for happy hour. Cod fish and chips was GREAT… rivals Trolls. Would like to see a nonfried white fish dish on the menu.

Really really solid food. The service was questionable at first, there was only 3 other tables, but once she got into it and we found a beer they hadn’t run out of, everything picked up. We didn’t wait long for our food. We shared the deep fried Brussels Sprouts(holy crap yum! — I hate the things!) He had the burger which had some tasty smear on it. The patty was a bit thin for the size of the bun, but the flavor was there. I had the honey and thyme chicken and I have to say, I’d go back just for that. The batter was crispy and perfect. The honey drizzle just enough and the fresh jalapeño biscuit that came with it was awesome. So yum!

Yes it was a 4 star meal, fish tacos and also killer clam chowder. But it was 3 star service. Considering it was lunch rush and the ladies were not super good. They were a 3 star. More training on customer service and which will probably happen as this place settles in. Super cool unique vibe inside the restaurant. I will be going back. But just wanted to be honest. I enjoyed it greatly but service could be better.

I cannot highly recommend this place enough for upmarket fish and chips at a reasonable price. The halibut was amazing and my wife loved the Dungeness crab. Staff and atmosphere were great. The place was packed and we didn’t notice a wait time during peak dinner service. Will definitely return.

Great appies and dinner. Very helpful waitress talked us through the craft beers to find something we all liked. Birthday desert was amazing. We will be back.
