My favourite sushi place in the Fraser Valley. Straightforward, fresh and fairly priced. Excellent service every time. I normally have the sashimi plate with a side of fried tofu.

Amazing service, top shelf sushi. I have been to many sushi joints all over the lower mainland/fraser valley and few can compare to Benkey

My go to place for sushi in Aldergrove! Friends and family love coming here for great food, kind waiters and good atmosphere. The food is delicious and would highly recommend this place to open minded customers and new comers.

We’ve tried this restaurant on a few occasions and never been happy with the food or service. Either they didn’t get our order right or what they brought to the table was not good at all. Trying to speak with them about any issue was useless. I recommend any other place for sushi. Save your time and money.

Love it! Food is excellent, service is quick & friendly. I’m a regular take-out customer but it’s a cozy little joint for the whole family to eat-in too. My kids beg me to take them there.

Great sushi not far from home. Bento boxes are a steal of a deal, sushi has been super fresh. Went there with family ranging from 5 years old to 60, the staff was very accommodating(and very patient!!!) will be back soon!

Best sushi place in Aldergrove and Pretty Good in general. Generous pieces of Sashimi. Spicy sauce is tasty(but always order on the side… controls the heat and lets you dip other rolls in it too) Very polite and attentive service. Keep up the good work!

Benkeysushi is my local sushi place and Aldergrove is lucky to have them. Cozy seating, pleasant décor, this place offers consistent, fresh dishes that are reasonably priced. I love the spicy age dashi tofu — crispy browned outer, melting inner goodness. Mr. D loves their Teriyaki chicken. We always have the nigiri sushi or sashimi and a few rolls — fave is the BC roll. The servers are so friendly and the chefs always thank you and say bye as you leave.

Visiting family in Aldergrove, they took us to this place for dinner. Delicious food, kind of run of the mill stuff. I won’t be driving from Surrey to Aldergrove for it but it’s a great option if you’re in the neighborhood! We had sunomono, spicy tofu, tuna and salmon sashimi(appetizer), Philadelphia roll, and negitoro roll. The tofu was the highlight! Won’t hesitate to visit again.

My go to place for sushi! Friends and I come here so often, the waitresses recognize us and are always so nice. Food is super yummy– I could eat everything on their menu! It might be small but if you come at the right time it’s busy, and there are a lot of take-out orders. Super cute restaurant hidden away, love this place!

Great place. Been many times and always consistent. Who would have thought such a nice sushi in Aldergrove.

Sashimi was DELICIOUS. Portions were generous. Price was very decent(especially considering how much you get). This little place doesn’t look like much, but had tons was take-outs flowing thought my lunch. Hidden gem in a random location. The salad was kind of lame, but didn’t bother me because I go for the fish…

This is best sushi I have eaten! The portions are good size always left overs and the price is right. I have never had to wait more than 15 mins to get my order. All the staff are super nice. Always a hello when you enter and a goodbye and a thank you when you leave. Waitress are friendly.

The food: I ordered miso soup, green salad, avocado roll, and a veggie roll. The miso soup was great, plenty of tofu and green onions. Then my sushi came, and though the portions were huge, the rice was really warm, and the rolls fell apart easily. I didn’t detect any vinegar in the sushi rice at all. The avocado was just a slice of avocado, without any real attention to texture. As you can tell, I eat a lot of sushi in the area. I’m not a novice who just went for her first sushi. Now, the green salad. I wondered for a long time where it was. I figured they’d forgotten it because I’d had my sushi plate cleared away a long time, and was feeling kind of sick from the warm sushi. They served this skinny plate with no room to really dig in, and it was well after I was at all hungry. They apologized that they forgot the salad, but didnt give me the option to reject it before billing me. I ate one bite after checking that the orange in the dressing was not roe, but ground carrot. I prefer more of a ginger base, and the bite I had was bitter. Oh well. The place: great seating, and a nice feel inside. The service: pretty decent for a bustling after church rush. I prefer Kami, the tiny sushi joint over by Save-On. Won’t be back, sorry.

I have eaten a lot of sushi, in Tokyo, Nagasaki, Kyoto, Vancouver and Richmond and for its price Benkey is way up there. Honestly, this is authentic Japanese, beautiful presentation, excellent wait staff and the food is very, very well done. This little restaurant(with all Japanese staff I might add) is a hidden little gem out here in Aldergrove. And the prices are amazing — not sticker shock here!

Living in Richmond I have access to a TON of sushi places, but any time I go anywhere remotely near Aldergrove, I make a point of stopping at Benkey. Seriously they are the best I’ve ever had by far. It’s one of the few places I’ve found where the entire front line staff is Japanese, where the quality and care put into the food is phenomenal, and where presentation is as fabulous as the taste. The tea’s unusual in that it’s not your typical sencha and it is much better suited to sushi, not having the bitter graininess of the commonly used teas. We usually have some of the sashimi or nigiri — the bf always has unagi there which I find amazing and I am not an eel-eater usually. I always love the Philladelphia roll(cream cheese mmmmmmm) and last time we tried the salmon and avocado roll which was perfectly balanced. We always make sure to get some deep fried California rolls because you just can’t eat the regular ones after trying their version of deep fried… it’s just not the same anymore! And we save the Las Vegas roll for last. Honestly that is the taste you want to sit in your mouth for hours afterwards. The sauces they put on it with the ingredients and the way they lightly deep fry it… you can’t help but savour the flavours for as long as possible. When we have stopped by later at night they’ve surprised us with little treats like specially stuffed mushroom caps(which were entirely handed over to the bf because i won’t eat those slimy things though I fully appreciated the gesture), or one time we got amazing little scallops topped with two different brightly coloured tobiko mounds(red and yellow). the service is friendly and the food is to die for. As Asian as Vancouver/Richmond has become — no sushi there can compare to Benkey.

Pretty decent sushi but nothing amazing. They do have very large portions though on their lunch combos and the price is decent.

This is a cute little sushi joint! What it lacks in location(in a strip mall) it makes up for in tastiness! Their avocado rolls are the only ones that can make my mouth water… yum! Don’t make the mistake of going on Monday, they are unfortunately closed:(
