This is an OK golf course. Fairways and greens in decent shape but it’s not a very pretty course. Perhaps later in the season when the trees and flowers and what not are blooming more will it be easier on the eyes. Green fees are decent($ 31 when I played). I’d go back but I’m not in any real rush to do so.

Good Friday Good Golfday! After almost a week of rain I was hesitant about a 845 tee time. The weather was a balmy 15 c on a sun filled Friday morning. One can’t help but smile when days like this come up! Drainage on the course was better than I expected. Certainly there were wet mine fields all over the course but considering all the rain we’ve had in the last few days I’m not going to bitch too much about the conditions! Bet ya I’ve played this course 100 times over the years! It’s a good yeoman golf course. Blue collar… Meat and potatoes… No fancy French pastries here! It’s the kind of course where you can go up and down the entire track and not lose a ball! In a certain way it plays like a city park… totally wide open! Just whale a way! The greens were in good condition. They rendered a honest roll most of the day. I find hole number 14 the be a monster! For some reason I always double boogie that hole! I got on the green in 3 and what did I do? 3 putted the hole! Darn! Does anyone out there shoot a par or better on 14? If you want to build your confidence play Burnaby Mountain! There are a lot more challenging tracks out there, but if you’re looking for value and a pretty easy course this is the place to come! I shot 96 today, but it was a sunny day so I’m not going to complain!

5 nicely constructed holes interspersed between 13 holes that remind me of a reclaimed driving range on this 6400 yard, traditional West Coast layout. The price is definitely right so no problem there. The elevation changes and mature trees are the course’s main defences and add some visual interest. Credit where credit is due and the recently completed drainage upgrades along with the hilly terrain provide good winter playing conditions. Unfortunately, the turf doesn’t get much better in the summer. Expect slow play here, 5 hours even in February. Burnaby Mountain is acceptable if you are learning the game, have no other choice or if budget is the main concern, otherwise go elsewhere. The unimaginative layout and lack of challenge limits the replayability for gamers.

An excellent place to fetch range balls for water holes.

This is a busy course. Busy because it has one of, if not the lowest green fees in the lower mainland. The course doesn’t have the best grass in the fairways but it is playable none the less. One problem is that on busy days, the pace can be very slow. Up to 5 hrs to complete a round.

Not bad turf quality; awesome surrounding. Wish I could live nearby & play daily~
