Specialties
Connections Coffee House is a gathering place in the neighbourhood.
We offer good drinks at attractive prices, including: latte, mocha, tea latte (london fog, chai, matcha), hot chocolate, americano, coffee, tea, fruit slush, iced latte, iced tea, and fruit juice. Our coffee & teas are organic & fair trade, and our coffee is roasted locally by an award-winning Vancouver coffee company.
We carry a selection of baked goods, such as muffins, brownies, squares, cookies, loaves, and biscotti.
We are proud to serve quality drinks at great prices, but our real specialty is providing as a place to build community in our little corner of Burnaby. Connections is a non-profit venture run and staffed by volunteers from the area. We regularly organize community events to give people a chance to have fun and meet their neighbours – we’ve had events like live music, community cleanups, games nights, pumpkin carving, karaōke, and sporting events on TV.
History
Established in 2012.
Connections Coffee House started as the dream of a woman that grew after she had lived next door for almost 10 years. She kept thinking that this one spot would be a perfect gathering place for people in the neighbourhood to get to know each other, to connect.
After those thoughts had percolated for a while, she shared the dream of a community coffee house with her local church family just a few blocks away, Brentwood Park Alliance Church. They caught the same vision and worked together to turn it into a reality.
Connections is not for profit, and is entirely run by volunteers. All the drinks and baked goods you buy go directly back into the operating expenses and purchasing the coffee, coffee supplies and baked goods. Everything you see when you step through the doors of Connections was made possible by generous donors who gave their time and resources to help make this place happen.
Connections opened its doors in September 2012.
