I usually don’t like to post anything in regards to the service provided my some of the food places that I’ve chosen to eat but I had to write one for this place. Worse service ever the staff was rude and obnoxious when I asked if she could give us an extra plate because I had ordered the 9.99 combo with two curry, rice, naan and a soft beverage. Since my girlfriend and I weren’t very hungry we decided to just order something small, so since my girlfriend was vegetarian we wanted the two curries separated. When I politely asked the staff if she could provide us another plate and separate the two she down right refused and was very rude about it. We left planning to never order from Curry Express in metro town again!

Pretty good but not as good as the oakridge location. Veggie curries are decent but a bit on the watery side. Still prefer to eat their food over anything else in the food court though.

I really like their butter chicken. It isn’t gourmet fare, but it makes for good comfort food

METROTOWNCURRYEXPRESSWORSEOFTHEWORSE! First time I order here I ask for rice and a beef curry when I got my food it was loaded with curry sauce and 4 tiny pieces of beef curry, ‘Thats right folks 4 tiny pieces’ and when I ask for more the Indian lady just grab my tray and put 2 small extra beef. IF I COULDHAVEANOPTIONTOPUTZEROSTAR I WOULD. NEVERGOINGBACKHEREAGAIN. I met some people who works at Curry Express in Richmond Centre and Oakridge Mall and they were nice and friendly the portion of the food they give is very good for my appetite more meat less sauce which was awesome then I told 1 of the lady who works in Richmond that the curry express in Metrotown was so bad that they gave such tiny portion and she told me it’s because of the Owner they call him the«Uncle«reason is I think the owner of the other location are his Nephew and«The Uncle» was making the decision to give tiny portion to the customer. Btw her last remark to me it’s because he was married to a white girl. My response was ‘SO…’.

The guy I’m dating and I will come here at least once, if not twice a month. It’s not the best curry in the world, however, as far as fast food court eateries are concerned it’s a better alternative than what is out there. It is also the healthiest option in comparison to the other offerings. It is a good value for what you get.

It’s food court Indian food. What do you expect, Vij’s? I like the chick peas and the daal. The meat dishes seem to be more hit or miss, as the quality and/or trimming of fat or skin seems to vary.

Inconsistent meat trims and cuts on the curry chicken. You seem to get more potato than meat. I’ve been to other better Curry Express…

BEWARE! They serve cat/rat meat calling it chicken. Had a really bad experience. Ordered the butter chicken and the meat was pink and not chicken, it tasted rubery and was gross it was not chicken. I photographed it and uploaded the picture if they haven’t taken it down, take a look for yourself.

When I used to work in the Metro towers, I went to Curry Express a few times a week. I never got sick of it because there is a wide variety of curries from the milder yoghurt based curry to the kickin’ heat of the spicy chicken. I was able to buy my lunch so often because the combo special is a great deal at about $ 8 and so filling with your choice of two curries, rice, naan and a drink. Also, for food court food, it’s much better than you’d expect, and healthier than most of the places in the Metrotown food court. A good portion of the curries are vegetarian friendly too. The vegetarian samosas are also quite good and quite large. I, as a big samosa fan, nowadays get the latest combo of two samosas and chick peas curry, and I’m definitely full by the end because the samosas are the size of fists!

My vegetarian husband, Brian B., loves this place and always eats here EVERY time we are in the mall. Sometimes he goes out of his way to eat here. While I am weary of mall food, he eventually coaxed me into eating there with him a few weeks ago. It’s alright. Nothing special, but alright. Win: The butter chicken was much better than I was expecting. Yogurt curry is delish Naan bread fresh and hot Fail: Palak Paneer is GROSS. I couldn’t even eat it after having a few bites.

This is the golden standard for mall food. I have been here many times, and will most likely continue to come here many more in the future. What we have here is a broad variety of tasty curry and indian dishes at a fantastic price — and lo; it was beheld unto me that vegetarian options were plentiful! The combo special is certainly where it’s at. 2 curries of your choice, rice, naan and a soft drink for about 8 $. And when I say curries of your choice they really give you some options. Off the top of my head I can recall: butter chicken, beef curry, chicken curry, spicy vegetable, yogurt pakura curry, daal(lentil curry), peas ‘n’ cheese, alu ghobi, and I’m sure I’m missing a couple of others. Certainly not bad for a mall fast food stop. And that doesn’t even take in to account the other dishes they have on the menu. Of course being the nature of fast food restaurants, it isn’t exactly the freshest food you’ll ever eat but I’ve never been sick when I’ve eaten there and I’ve never been left hungry afterwards. This is more than I can say for just about any other place in the metrotown food court where either one or the other occurs. This place really comes through on exactly what it’s supposed to be: a great bang-for-your-buck place to fill up while taking a break from shopping or running errands at metrotown. Not worth going out of your way for otherwise, but certainly worth going for if you happen to be there and get hungry.

Yogurt veggie pakora curry that has to be some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Love the combo deals, where 2 items and naan for ~$ 7 actually fills me up(and they don’t just give you 3 cups of rice). I hate going to the mall and paying crazy prizes but still being hungry.

At first glance the dishes look like typical mall fast food fare… but lo and behold, in the near left corner is what makes the Curry Express a «special» mall treat. All the other dishes on display never seem to vary and are your typical mass-produced fast food fare. However, that little corner of the Curry Express occasionally houses a yummy surprise. I’ve discovered that this dish varies about once or twice a week and is made by a member of the owners’ family. Made especially for THIS Curry Express location. It might be cabbage and peas, potato curry, aloo gobi or zuccini. When I am near Metrotown, I’ll wander over to take a look… and can’t resist. I’ll order whatever special dish was made with a couple of fresh hot naan and a chai. Mmmm. Yes. For this alone, I’m definitely a fan.

In terms of mall food my expectations are pretty low, but while in Metrotown I was wandering around, and saw Curry Express and their signage about samosas… thanks Curry Express for implanting a wicked samosa craving… so I decided to give it a try. Curry Express was a delightful surprise. They have combo specials, I am always happy to have options, especially when with my boyfriend who has a large appetite and me a small one. I ordered my curry chicken with rice and a nan and a side samosa, my boyfriend found non-spicy food(read: butter chicken). Service was very fast. The food was actually good! The samosa was a quality that I typically don’t find outside of my favorite samosa place, it was great! I recommend Curry Express as good and efficient place to eat at Metrotown to fuel you to conquer that mall!

Metrotown’s food court doesn’t have too much to offer vegetarians. I find myself over at Curry Express almost every time I am looking for sustenance at Metrotown. For $ 7.49 you can chose two curries along with rice, naan, and a drink. It’s not restaurant quality, but it’s not bad for fast food.
