Debbie Erceg, DDS-Gentle Dental

Before my work insurance deadline was up I wanted to go get a check up from a proper Orthodontist (which my current dentist did not provide). After doing some research, a friend suggested I see Debbie and I was pleasantly surprised coming in as a new patient. I was particularly interested in her expertise in laser dentistry. I just went in for a free consultation, but I felt confident she was the right Ortho for me. Thanks Debbie!

Since before they renamed to Gentle, I’ve been lucky to have Dr. Erceg as my dentist. Every time I’ve gone to see her, she’s made me feel heard and she’s ensured that I am comfortable.
I felt compelled to write a review because they just got a fancy new dental laser which was used during my last week’s cavity treatment instead of a drill. There was no need for a freezing shot (which I DREAD) and the whole thing was done in a few minutes. I couldn’t believe how quick and literally painless it was.
This kind of experience is par for the course. If you’re looking for a dentist by Metrotown, you have my recommendation for Dr. Erceg.

I went to Dr. Erceg for the first time with a tooth ache.
She was extremely rude, speaking over me to someone else in a foreign language while in the process of an examination. She only ran one test and an x-​ray before deciding I needed a root canal.
She was adamant this was the only solution.
Not very taken by her bedside manner, opted for a second opinion.
The other dentist examined me and concluded I did NOT need a root canal (upwards of $ 3,000 with insurance!) but rather the soreness was coming from my wisdom tooth crowning coupled with an old filling that needed to be replaced.
I save $ 2940, by not going to Dr. Erceg. I would not recommend her to any one! She was rude and is obviously profiting off people in pain.

I have been going to Dr. Erceg for a number of years and can’t feel lucky enough to have found such a good dentist. She is very thorough and listens to any of your complaints. One time she asked me how I was doing and I mentioned I had a terrible headache. She delved deeper into it and determined that I was clenching in my sleep and needed a night guard. Since then I’ve had far fewer headaches. I appreciate the fact that she asked questions instead of just brushing it off as I think many people would.
Her staff are very friendly and chatty while still being thorough. Even though I don’t always get the same hygienist, they always remember me. Dr. Erceg and her team take the time to make sure they do a good job.
