Flying Wedge Pizza

I can’t tell you how much I love Flying Wedge pizza’s one of a kind and unique flavours, but this location is shameful. I remember a few months back I tried this location for the first time and it all started there. There was not a soul to be found in the place which I thought was weird… people love Flying Wedge but now I understand why no one comes here. The owner/​manager is a real smart aleck and it comes off quite rude and just awkward. He’s so cheap too that when I asked for a box to go you could tell he was really hesitating and struggling with the decision if he should give me one or not. Lol how pathetic! People like that shouldn’t be in any sort of customer service business. Eww I can’t imagine what else they compromise on if giving out a cheap thin paper box is such a big deal.
When I looked closely at the pizza it looked like it had been sitting there for 3 weeks and it had flies swarming all around it. Mmm awesome! I wouldn’t feed this food to a dog.
They should shut this location down or give it over to another owner who respects the Flying Wedge franchise like they do at their awesome Kits location.

I guess they were wasting too much pizza and other people didn’t want the old Alice’s they had kicking around so now (the last two times I’ve been in) there will be nothing in the case and the owner will tell you what’s coming out «soon» usually only the pepperoni and the Hawaiian. We’ve twice paid and waited around, and the crust is too doughy and mushy and it takes like 15 – 20 minutes. I doubt I’ll be back, to wait that long for one slice of pizza id be better off going to me and ed’s or even cactus club or Boston pizza.

Sitting here now actually contemplating whether or not I will finish the slice. This almost never happens which truly indicates how downhill the place has gone since last visit two years ago.
The help wasn’t very helpful. Really disappointed.
Asked for my slice to be thrown back in the oven for a minute cause it looked to be Luke warm (tomatoes give it away) and was told ‘no it just came out’
Take one bite and it isn’t even what I would call lukewarm.
I am the only customer in here!
What would it be too much effort to put my freakin slice back in the freakin oven for a minute as requested?
I sometimes just don’t get it and after this visit Flying Wedge won’t get my business cause they just don’t get it!
And the pizza was awful today!

My boyfriend and I came here after indecision on where to go, the pickings are slim in this area. After deciding on choosing four slices and sharing a juice the total came to $ 18.
The slices are large but the pizza is incredibly bland.
I chose the Cheesy Rom and Tropical pig. The Hawaiian was rather flavourless, the sauce was nice but I couldn’t taste the cheese over it and the ham was okay.
The Cheese pizza was incredibly bland. One again the sauce overpowered the cheese and the crust was slightly undercooked. The crust on both slices was insipid.
The server was very nice and accommodating. He told us how long the slices had been in the warmer and which pizzas he was cooking at the moment.

This I think is the most overpriced pizza slice chain out there. What’s worse, it’s meh, if that… at best.
For starters, pizza has a ridiculously high mark-​up. Over time, I tried different FLP locations and while some are worse than others where gross looking pizza slices were sitting for hours in the warmer, the one thing they all had in common was the lack of flavor of their pizzas.
This location is new and it does seemingly well. Employees are polite and respectful, however, everything else about this place is lacking.

These guys are a class act! Anytime I order they get my order right, and it’s delivered hot and fresh. I’ve tried almost all of their pizzas but my favourite would have to be the Butter Chicken and the Bacon Cheeseburger.
If you’re looking for some inventive pizzas that taste great, these are your guys!

If your looking for some great pizza try the flying wedge at market crossing. I order a pizza with pulled pork can’t remember the name but it was deeelicious. The service was great. The employee behind counter connected with me how my day was. It felt like we new each other for a long time. Overall the food and the service was fantastic… I would definitely recommend this place to all the pizza lovers out there…

Love going here, the owner is always friendly and happy to see everyone. LOVE LOVE the Nutty Thai could eat it everyday. Always fresh and clean there. Amazing pizza and toppings,

Tried FW for the first time. I didnt care too much for the multigrain crust. Toppings were fresh & plentiful. Staff friendly & courteous. Id say 3.5 stars but I just didnt like the crust but thats just my preference. Usually I love all types of pizza but for first impressions the crust was different kind of like a wrap or pita but not like pizza. Maybe it takes some getting use to

After trying most of the other local joints I decided to give a chain a try and I was rewarded with two good pizza’s exactly as ordered. The phone and delivery experience was good and the price gave good value. I enjoyed a modified meat pizza and we also ordered a Hawaiian which was good. They will get another try from us soon with us expecting to be more adventurous on the next order.
Tip — it was about an hour for delivery, so order early.
Update — try the Perogie, it is AMAZING!

Went there today because of a happy hour special from 3−4pm. We got there at 3:30pm and they only had 3 pieces of pizza left. The Guy said I have more in the oven but you will have to pay regular price. Don’t think I will be coming back.

I thought that this was very good pizza for the Burnaby area & then I had a couple of bad experiences with the new help. Perhaps it was the new help but the toppings also started to get scanty, so I just stopped going.
Lately I have tried it again, including today. Back up there with the best. My wife who hasn’t been fussy about returning was enthusiastic about her pizza and agreed that it was back to how it was before.
There are so many pizza places you just can’t let your standards fall or else people quickly go elsewhere. I am happy to again give this 5 stars. Keep it up!

Not just for the solid pizza, but it’s one of the cleanest & friendliest ones too, not kidding… when you’re deciding what to order, the owner’s right there to greet you, doesn’t feel pressured, and smile goes a long way.
Due to its area, feel the safeness of a family environment — guess in comparison to the West End location lol.
Lots of good choices, but the bacon cheeseburger is always a winner ;)
High def flatscreen too.

I’m not typically a pizza fan, but this place have a nice selection of non standard pizza topping.

We just tried Flying Wedge for the first time — it was my daughter’s idea — last weekend and what a great idea! We are a large family with three grown children still at home going to University etc. so I really appreciate a good deal.
The Pizza was great, not too expensive and two large filled everyone up with some left over for lunch the next day.
We like to experiment with toppings so we had some non-​traditional toppings and they were great.
The service was prompt and very friendly. We will definitely be regular customers here.

For someone who is not exactly a pizza fan, two takeout nights within a week would be unfathomable and yet it did happen — all out of sheer laziness for not cooking and leaving dinner decision making to other people. Oh well, guess the price for being lazy with food means I would be exerting ten times the effort to burn it off…
Luckily Flying Wedge is not your run-​of-​the-​mill chain or neighbourhood joint serving rubbery cheese slapped onto a greasy mess on top of a bland, thick floury-​tasting white dough.
FW is pricier than the average pizza takeout but it is worth the expense I suppose. It certainly helped that we had coupons, which ultimately led to the repeat later in the week.
The crust is flavourful and textured, thanks to the herb mix added to the dough. Thickness is appropriate — not too thin to be insubstantial (although I am a fan of thin crust for its crunchiness) but not so thick that the soft doughy centre negates any crispiness on the exterior to result in no bite to the crust. Meats are of decent quality with other ingredients being quite fresh. Most importantly, their pizzas are not smothered in grease, which is why I don’t usually care for pizzas because the majority of restaurants make them that way.
There is always better pizza to be had in town but if I don’t want to drive out too far on hectic weeknights, Flying Wedge is an acceptable alternative.
