I gotta say, I’m a fan of this place. I’ve been here once before my latest visit. Was good then, and was good now. Can’t beat the price for wings, 37 cents/wing when you buy an alcoholic beverage? no problem! The service was great, even though our server was brand new. The things I would do to improve this place is: 1) Renovate — which I heard from the waitress they are closing for a couple weeks to do this. I sure hope they relocate the bar, and get rid of the booths in the centre, and create a more open concept. I can’t wait to see what they do. 2) revamp their menu. The menu looks… unprofessional. People like to see ‘branding’, and consistency. They need a better drink menu too, with drink prices. 3) Offer at LEAST one gluten-free beer. It can be in bottles, and not on special… that’s cool. I had to get a vodka soda, which I can guarantee if I had the option to slug back a gluten-free beer with my wings, I would have had more than one drink. 4) mention whether your wings are ‘made-to-order’ or not. Because I can’t have wheat, but was dying for some wings, and was starving hungry, I didn’t ask. But, I know that good wing places make their wings when they are ordered, and they are able to not bread them with anything. 5) CREATE A WEBSITEFORYOURBUSINESS!!! I wanted to write to the owner with my feedback/suggestions, but there is no website. That really sucks. A website is the BEST way to generate more business. Advertise your menu, your specials, and any special events. 6) Drop the ‘family restaurant’ thing. I don’t know many families who go out for wings with the kiddies. I tried going to watch UFC here in the past, and they said they don’t show UFC because it’s a ‘family place’. Seriously… drop that, and increase your business. 7) Seriously, get a website. When I googled the business I came upon a website that appeared to be theres, but I was taken to a Vancouver Coastal Health report on the restaurant, and I hate to say… they got a ‘moderate’ rating for some unsafe practices(kinda made me regret eating here the other night). With all that said, I will return once they reopen again, and see what has changed.

glad i ignored past reviews and web misdirects on this one. what a great deal on a tremendous selection of nice meaty wings. it was exactly what i was looking for. 29c wings weekday evenings 37c daytime and sundays. maybe the reason behind all of this is the recent change of ownership?

ABSOLUTELYDISGUSTING! If i could give 0 stars i would… the wings taste like they were frozen for years before being microwaved then put on a dish and the service is pathetic at best. If you want cheap wings try somewhere else, even wings just down the street is better. STAYAWAY!

I’ve never left so much food behind on a dining excursion before, and for me that’s saying a lot. Wings weren’t fully cooked, fire and ice had zero ice that the waitress raved about, and my $ 8 drink magically had no booze in it, even though I ordered it with. Also took 10 minutes just to be acknowledged at the door, and another 5 to get seated in an otherwise empty restaurant. The waitress tried when she was present, but I left before she even checked on me — paying of course, but very unhappy doing so. Avoid at all costs fellow Unilocalers! Wish I had something more positive to share.

To start… Service sucked. ALOT. I was lucky enough to have a hair in my food… and it only took until they brought the bill for me to be able to bring it to the attention of our server. Which they at the very least took it off my bill and gave me my drink for free. I had the mac and cheese which was runny and bland from what I tasted before I noticed the hair. Now this place is called the house of wings. They have about twenty different kinds of wings so I guess its fitting. The problem is that the wings weren’t very good at all. At first they were decent but as they cooled down and sat in a pool of the sauce they became soggy and quite gross. Im a pretty big stickler for professtionalism when you are on the job. This place was not professtional. There was a family at one table and the two staffers were sharing tables so somehow the drinks got made incorrectly. They ordered a pitcher not a glass. Whent he one waitress was walking away from them I actually saw her roll her eyes and mutter someting under her breath. it was pretty terrible to watch. Anyway I won’t be going back in the forseeable future. I recommend skipping this place until they get entirely new staff.

Easy to confuse this one with the better Wings on Griffiths St, just a few blocks down, sure wish I missed this House by the Middlegate area. Despite its growing affluence here, well, compared to before, but still not enough to make the average vancouverite drive all the way here for any of the restos in this area. Ordered the sampler of 25 wings, 5 flavours of 5 wings each is the requirement. so in this order: honey garlic, lemon garlic, salt & pepper, fire & ice and jerk & honey, with honey the only one to recommend. Good customer service due to her first month there, great to have a local pub for the folks here but won’t recommend this to anyone, at least for the food. Drinks, yes… and to watch sports…

This is one house I’m not looking visit anytime soon. It’s game time!!! I got my resos and ready to munch down on wings! We showed up and the restaurant started to fill up. Good thing we arrived a few minutes early then! I approached the host stand and let the waitress know that I had a reservation. She looks over to the direction of the possible placement of our table and she said to us that she’ll be right back. We waited for a few minutes and then I approached another server about our reservations and she looks over at the table and told us that they gave our table away. WTF? Server A couldn’t tell us that? Good thing was that the other server told me they were just waiting for them to leave before they can seat us. Ok thanks for telling me finally. After a few more minutes the second server tells me that they decided to give our table to another group cause they were larger than ours. Wow, with only a few minutes left till puck drop and we are starting to look for a contingency plan. They over booked their reservations and all the servers are avoiding the door of unhappy customers and making 1 poor gal handle all the guest on her first day. I can’t give it to someone on their first day, soooo lets talk to a manager or is it even worth it? We decided we rather just watch the game else and were on our way out the day and that’s when she told us that they do have a table they are clearing up now. She apologized for the wait and the mix up and sat us down. Good thing was that we sat down just a few minuted into the game so we weren’t too torn about it. We quickly ordered a few wings, nachos, and club sandwich. Ok, for a «House of Wings» their wings are very bland! Only the«wet» wings tasted decent cause we kept re-dipping them in the residual sauce on the plate. The dry wings had no flavour but the seasoning on the outside. We took the dry wings and dipped them in the sauces otherwise it was just seasoned cardboard. The nachos with beef was alright. Huge pile of chips baked with meat, veg and cheese. The best part was the club sandwich actually. Choice of white or brown, bacon, chicken, breast, mayo and with a side of fries. Wish they took some of the love from this club to their house specialty, wings and the salt from the fries cause that was overly salty and I’m a guy that loves salt. Our server was very nice(she wasn’t any of the other ones we dealt with earlier). She was quick and circled around quick well on a busy game night. One more thing, we got sat on the right side of the restaurant where the room was shaped like an octagon. There was one visible large speaker up high in that geometric room and with high ceilings in a room like that you can imagine how good that sound quality was. We could barely hear nor understand what they were saying during the interviews. Not a good spot to be in to catch the game, nor a spot for food.

I think the management has changed once again. The food is still pretty good and the staff are sufficient lets say. It is just not the level of service you would have expected about a year ago. I hope this is just a blip in the radar as this used to be one of my favorite places to stop for wings. They used to have much better mid-week specials as well. A real problem for sports games is that some of the TVs are great but some are just dreadful and the sound is always hit or miss on games here as well!

Went with the wife to try this local watering hole for dinner. Everything on the menu was pretty affordably-priced, the most expensive being the steak at $ 18.50. I had the BBQ pork ribs($ 16.50) and the wife had the Lamb shank($ 14.50). Long Island Ice Teas were on special for $ 3.99 so we each had one of those too. My BBQ ribs were meh. A little dry and tasted more of the sauce then ribs. The fries it came with were way over-seasoned unfortunately, as they were pretty good otherwise. The lamb shank was surprisingly tender and tasty though. The place is decent, not too noisy. Lots of TVs around. Seemed like a pretty family-friendly place too, as we saw a number of groups with little ones. I have to agree with other Unilocalers though: the service is quite slow. It seemed like they were constantly rushing, although the restaurant wasn’t that busy and we seemed to have more than enough servers. Note, we had a 2-for-1 entrée entertainment book coupon which made the cost quite affordable — but that’s basically the main draw to go here — it’s pretty cheap.

2 Friends and I had a craving for some wings and beer and we wanted the best. unfortunately we were dooped by the name(House of Wings). we have all had better wings than this place. We were hungry and ordered 40 wings a plate of nachos and some beer. I honesty could have made far better nacho’s at home, they were horrible, half of them were without toppings and it just didn’t taste like anything. Which was the same for the wings, they had no kick to them, many of them were very small and a couple seemed broken off and were half the size of others. I have definitely had better food. The service was okay, we had our food in an appropriate amount of time and ouir waitress checked in on us, its unfortuante the food was so dissapointing…

If it’s a HOUSE of wings, they better serve good wings. My opinion? Certain flavors are better than others. Patio seating available, which looks out onto Kingsway. What seemed to be lacking throughout our whole experience was the service, and the server’s knowledge of the food. When asked what beers were available, there was a bit of a hesitation. Questions about the flavours, the answers were a bit vague too. Seems as though they have $ 0.39 wings before 7pm on a Saturday? There was nothing posted anywhere, we were just informed. Only requirement is that you have to order one drink per person. As for the flavours, there’s lots of unique ones, such as pineapple curry or PB&J…we played it safe, and tried out their salt and pepper, roasted red pepper and garlic, and the two adventurous ones: Fire & Ice, and Blazin Jamaican. Salt & Pepper was my favourite. A light crispy outside, and the meat is juicy and tender. Pretty decent sized wings too. Fire & Ice was not as exciting as it sounds. It tasted just like a Thai Chili. Blazin Jamaican was not so great either. It was a spicy sauce, with almost a pickle taste to it. Service was not too great, there was only one person watching our whole area? Would come back and try out the other flavours… PB&J…maybe?

Ugh… Such a trashy place… They have to pick it up if they are going against the other wings down the street. Waitress was so unprofessional and the service is such a drag when I entered the place. The vibe in the establishment wasn’t very settling either… Yes, I entered and I saw 4 tables uncleaned, and then the whole waitress staff stands in the corner of the place and just talks loudly… Really? I mean please do your job, it is what you are paid to do… The waitress was very inattentive with our table. Most of the time she just walks off, and didn’t show up for like 20 minutes when we were ready to order… I would only give the stars for the food at this place. But most of the food was drenched in salt, and we didn’t like it. I mean just down the street is a better WINGS, who would want to come here? I want the AppleBees back at this corner. It would have made MORE business than this place… UGH. CHANGEITBACK!

My experience with House of Wings can be described as mediocre at best. My visit to the restaurant while under this name was an interesting one though. I had visited the restaurant as part of a working lunch and the server seemed to have some trouble handling our party of twelve. Drink orders were thoroughly mixed up when they finally arrived, and the food was bland. The burger I had ordered was slightly pink inside but all was made better by the sarcastic eye roll from the waitress when asked if it could be heated up. Overall this is one joint that I would not recommend.

Nice server, too bad about the food… This location has had several names over the years, and as a House of Wings I don’t think it will last much longer than the predecessors. Were it not for the sweet, friendly server, I would have given it one star. Now maybe House of Wings is a bar. When I asked the hostess at the door, she assured me they had a full restaurant menu and there were screaming kids at the only other occupied table. And they did have a fairly large selection of items on their menu. I ordered a Peppercorn Steak. $ 16.00 for the steak, plus a drink. The steak itself was prepared medium-rare as I requested, but with all the grissle and fat there was very little meat to be found, and quite frankly after sawing through grissle for 20 minutes, I just gave up. The mashed potatos were just a pale lump on the plate — I’ve enjoyed instant potatos more, and the mixed vegetables — well string beans and carrots that look like something I’ve microwaved from a bag in my freezer. Once again, I’m not a drinker. Maybe they have an amazing liquor menu. All I know is if you are looking for a good meal, I’d look elsewhere.
