Background:
I was looking for an optometrist to have a vision test done. I was working at Metrotown at the time, was pleased to find conveniently find Metropolis Eyecare Centre while in the mall, and quickly got a few times held which I confirmed later that afternoon. Next day, went for the vision test.
Breakdowns for my visit:
— arrive 5 minutes early for my 5:30pm appointment
— sit in waiting area for 14 minutes
— asked to pay in full before the exam, takes 1 – 2 minutes (note: no e-​receipt???)
— pre-​screen immediately following payment, takes 1 minute
— move to vision test room, wait 4 minutes
— vision test, chitchat, and given results: 10 minutes
Final thought:
When setting my appointment time, I had asked for how much time to budget and was provided a quote of 45 minutes. Given that it took less than 35 minutes from (early) arrival to finish, this vision test was fine for timing.

Time for the annual check up! The Dr was very nice, took his time and helped me address some issues I’ve been having with double vision, which was sourced to extreme eye fatigue. I’ve been coming here for 20 years now, and I want to be loyal as they are so nice and have my whole eye history since I was 11 here. BUT, after shelling out $ 90.00 they wouldn’t give me my contacts prescription. Just glasses. When I asked for my contacts prescription (which is different and used to come on a different triplicate form) they said no, they will be just adjusting my contact prescription there as I buy them and they won’t give it to me because it varies from lens to lens blah blah blah. As a 95% contact lens wearer this is unacceptable to me. I paid for their service, and I believe I am entitled to my prescription so I can be free to buy my lenses anywhere. I will be looking into the law and ethics of them refusing this to me. I am not willing to burn this bridge just yet, but they are pushing me in that direction! I don’t care a smidgen that they lose business to online retailers, that’s where I WILL go and this is just reinforcing why I won’t pay for their overpriced sub par selection.

I had Dr. Gandham for my eye exam and he basically was my eye he knew so much and he was able to pinpoint what problems I’ve been having and why I’ve been getting head aches and dizziness. He recommended certain things to get for my prescription but are optional if I feel I don’t need them. I got what he recommended and now my eyes are doing so much better :) not only that they were all so nice there

I have been coming here with my whole family for over 10 years to see Dr. Rai. Today they kept me waiting for over 1 hour for an 8 minute exam, which cost $ 90. Front desk was extremely rude and their only concern is to obtain payment upfront. They have no respect for my time and no one would acknowledge their delay. They are more interested in selling contact lenses than doing the eye exam. Will not be returning.

They won’t give you a contact lenses prescription unless you buy from them, an further Moe, the receptionists are rude. I had to fight to get them and when I eventually got them, I ordered online and found out that they were the wrong ones and they were not clear. Very unprofessional. I have been coming here for a long time an now I won’t give them my business anymore.

I went to see eye doctor because there is sth inside my eye and they charge me money for eye examination and give me reason «because of first time walk in ». It don’t make sense to charge my money. I just realize today I went to other eye care centre they didn’t charge me anything because I have care card. And I called in today, the people who picked up the phone, terrible service ever. Black stop I will never go again.

We didn’t have an appointment, we just walked in and it was a 20 minute wait to get tested and have our pescription. Moderatly priced for the service offered. Receptionist was a bit out to lunch and clueless, thankfully she wasn’t the one putting the solution in the eyes.

I’ve been coming here for about 7 years now. Eye exams are fairly priced I believe its $ 90 for an adult eye exam. This office I believe also offers incentives for children to get eye exams which I think is great because some parents may be hesitant to take their kids for financial reasons.
sometimes the wait is a little long, but based on my experience it usually depends on the time of day I make the appointment for. Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. I’ve asked for old receipt reprints, copies of old prescriptions.
I recently had PRK surgery on my eyes (laser) and their post-​op follow up package is fairly priced too relative to other offices in the lower mainland. Dr. Gandham is very friendly and takes great care of my eyes — gave me lots of advice on how to care for my eyes properly post surgery.
I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a conveniently located and ethical optometrist.

Disappointing. You go in for an eye exam but they won’t give you the figures for contacts unless you buy contacts from them.

So a previous review ranted a bit about the cost to see the optometrist. Lets just say I am eating my words, well just a little. They are still expensive ($ 90 for an eye exam) but they not include the dilation of your eyes in that cost if you need it, which I do because I am so blind they want to make sure nothing else is going loose inside those eye balls of mine.
Last week I had to go for my bi-​yearly eye exam. I had called an eye doctor closer to home to see what their cost was and it was $ 120, so thus the reason I am eating my words, well a small bite of them anyway. When I got there I received the usual friendly and efficient service. The doctors there are always very kind and honest. They don’t push anything on you which is so nice. They recommend. Heck they have even recommended for me to get laser eye surgery when I am ready, which is nice because if the eye surgery worked they wouldn’t be seeing me as much, thus not getting my hard earned cash lol! Anyway, I digress.
As I was waiting I noticed a small, in office advertisement of their yearly daily contact deal and WOW, the beat out
by a landslide so I have changed from the monthly to the daily as they are much healthier for the contact wearers eyes and I am in LOVE! My eyes always feel so much better now. What was really nice was that they gave me 5 days worth of samples to see how I liked them before I purchased them. I am now the most loyal customer they have!
